file 120 card A/B starters

120 cards is the optimum size for decks from DriveThruCards. Because of that I think starters could be done in a completely different way than before. Basically, put two starters in one, where there is overlap. For instance a Lasombra starter that has one angle as stealth-bleed and another as stealth-vote, with the overlap of the stealth cards and some vampire you could get two interesting decks.

I think the break down is something like:
18 vampires:
6 core vampires used in both decks.
6 vampires for the A deck
6 vampires for the B deck
100 library cards:
50 library cards used in both decks
25 library cards for the A deck
25 library cards for the B deck
2 checklists for constructing decks (included so internet access to deck lists not required):
1 A deck
1 B deck
Total 120 cards.

I think such an approach would be great for new players, they get 2 decks strategies and the ability to mix and match between them.

Here are a couple of A/B starters that I've thought of:
Lasombra Stealth Bleed/Lasombra (with some !Ventrue) Stealth Vote
Brujah Weenie Justicar Vote/Brujah and !Brujah Fattie Multi-Act vote
Assamite Breed-Boon/!Toreador Breed-Boon (need to go to 24 vampires, but more in common in library between A and B decks)

This is a good approach to 120-card starters. It gives great variety for value, and I think most agree starters are essential to bring in new players.

I have put arguably too much thought into this lately.

A/B decks could be interesting, especially if an accompanying "C/D" are made so that 2 people who invest in starter setup can make a 4 player table.

But.

I was thinking more along the lines of starter decks (online and in brick and mortar stores) and some sort of "players kit" with 120 cards clan specific to build upon starter decks.

Beginner geared products does seem a good plan though.

Both ideas are great !

And if I remember correctly Ben (and his Design Team) had been working on Starter Decks a couple years ago, maybe those ideas won't stay in their coffins...
