Hi,
What exactly does cancel the block part Clan Loyalty's text mean? No tapping for succesful block? Other effects?

Clan Loyalty

Action Modifier
[1 Blood]
Only usable when this vampire is successfully blocked by a vampire of the same clan (play before combat).
Cancel the block and combat. The action continues as normal, and no vampires of that clan may block the acting vampire for the remainder of the turn.

Seems like nobody bothered to answer this question...

I'm curious what would be the timing nuances between this and if blocker would like to play mental maze (or obedience).. They would be played in same window and one says action continues and one says action ends..

When the block is canceled the minion is not locked (though they remain locked if the block attempt was from a wake effect).

The acting minion has the impulse, if they play Clan Loyalty (or any other card that cancels a blocker), then Mental Maze, Obedience, etc. cannot be played because the reacting minion is no longer blocking or about to enter combat.

no timing windows in VtES, this is NOT MtG. Please go read about how impulse works if you want to spend time understanding timing issues. There is no LIFO or LILO setup as per MtG, only impulse.

I am not being argumentative, but there seems to be a distinct break in your understanding of VtES timing rules, as you are using such terms as timing windows, which is a distinctively MtG term originally.

The Rulebook indicates that there are timing windows. This exact term is used to describe when to play wake effects.

Where do you suggest one goes to read about impulse? This exact term is not used in the rulebook, and there is only an extremely terse outline of sequencing in the rulebook. The "impulse" is not officially described anywhere, so how would one go read about it?

Again, this is not the case. "Window" is used in the rulebook, "impulse" is not. I'd be willing to forgive someone if their grasp of the timing nuances in VTES is not 100% given that the rulebook does a subpar job describing sequencing. A detailed description of how the impulse works really should be included in the rulebook.

From the rulebook, to continue above post.

Wake: A vampire that wakes during an action can attempt to block that action and/or play reaction cards as though unlocked for the duration of the action. Wake effects can always be played during the "as a card is played" window, in order to play other reaction cards that must be played in that window. A reaction cards that unlocks a vampire but doesn't wake it is not considered as a wake effect and can't be played during the "as a card is played" window.

As TwoRazorReign said, the word "impulse" does not appear in rulebook.
