Greetings @Yipe and welcome back,

Do not hesitate to check out the Codex for questions about cards interactions and rulings. It also gives the links to the original Rules Directors posts with the whole discussion around the subject.

Farewell !

Coming back to this topic briefly... we've picked up more players for our VtES group and we're getting in some regular games (or as much as possible considering the moratorium on in-person gaming and then wildfires hitting our area pretty hard right now).

Players are digging into some of their older cards/clans and building new decks to spice things up, which of course has led to further rules questions. The card in question this time around is Mirror Image, which functions in a similar capacity to Form of Mist (hence why I'm adding it to this discussion thread).

MIRROR IMAGE
[Chi] Action Modifier: +1 stealth
[CHI] Combat: Strike: combat ends. If this vampire was blocked while performing an action other than bleeding, the action continues as if unblocked.

The question is how to play Mirror Image at the superior level as it doesn't increase the acting minion's stealth like Form of Mist? If the blocking minion's previous intercept still applies, wouldn't combat end and then the action would be immediately blocked again and both minions would go right back into a new combat?

Is the purpose here to cycle your hand and hunt for more stealth? What are we missing? Our Ravnos player is looking for guidance to continue with their mind-altering shenanigans!

Something like this maybe :

Player A bleed
Player B block with an unlocked vampire
Combat -> player B lock his blocking vampire
Player A play mirror image sup
Player B need a wake or another unlocked vampire to block

mirror image sup dont continue bleed action,so wake or another unlocked minion is right, just need another action than bleed

Huh, I guess I misunderstood how this works. When the initial blocking minion locks to block, and then the acting minion plays Mirror Image (or Form of Mist) to end combat, the blocking minion is no longer considered blocking?

But earlier in this thread, someone posted that if the blocking minion had played a wake (e.g. Wake with Evening's Freshness) to block the action, then they are still able to block this action because it hasn't been completed yet. That's a pretty complex and subtle distinction.

What if the initially blocking minion plays a wake card after the Mirror Image? Is all of the intercept they played to block in the first place still applicable here?

Since it is still the same action, any modifiers and reactions (and others effects, like tap-for-stealth/int) still apply. This includes wakes already played by the blocker(s).
