Why waste an action fetching an equipment with Shamblers?
They should be rushing or guarding your back at least (with Unmasking).

Haze already explained a more effective way of using the Shamblers.

If you want to add damage just use suitable Vitals -with Trap Target Hand is just lovely but most people tend to go for target Vitals.

Or if you want to play difficult to use combos use Francis Milliner who has access to Inspire Greatness, albeit merely inferior. If you wanna use superior then the cheapest alternatives are six cappers Elihu, Sela, Sir Ralph Hamilton, Tara and Tomaine (from groups 2-5 so at least one is definately available).

Also, they can play Weighted Walking Stick. It's a one-time or 2-time +1 damage, and your vampire can play them in a pinch.

It's likely unnecessary, but on some case it can make a difference.

Walking Stick + Lucky Blow + Target Vitals
