More seriously, I'd just change it to "Put this card on a ready minion you control. If you have three copies on that minion..." etc.

That is an extremely good idea IMO. It gives them interactivity in that you can affect the minion with them yet since they aren't equipment, they can't be screwed with too easily. Really nice.


Mandating they be ready to make the tablets "pop" would be a significant nerf, allowing them to primarily help the kind of decks that use them "fairly" . So i like it, but im not sure if its too much when adding a word is cleaner with similar effect. But id be perfectly content making it clearer who to rush from a girls deck when all minions are @ 1-3 blood and only have sce or bats n birds to fight back.

The tablets allow really fluid decks to recur cards. Since mmpa decks are the biggest problem with allowing this, since decks in this game were never meant to play master cards as fluidly as weenie potence cycles combat. But other decks, mainly combat and walls, along with some multy act voters/bleeders, are prone to bwing down to only premanents by late game. Rushes and red cards are needed for combat to do anything, and tablets allow them to still get grapples, signposts, slams and rushes even if they've had a rough table all game. Same with walls dealing with weenies and lawfirm/multiact vote dealing with no secrets/weenie eyeball/2nd trad guns.


No doubt there are decks that need to cycle back non-permanents. But the 13 cards retrieved by Ashur Tablets to your library should be RANDOM. Of course it's nice to be able to fine-tune your deck late-game, but it's also overpowered. Such deck-tuning is an appropriate mechanic for Dominion, not VTES.

That would also fix one of the strongest complaints about Ashur Tablets, namely the time it requires to use them.

3 MPAs for 3 pool, 1 card of your choice from your ash heap to your hand, and replenishing your library with random non-permanents is still not bad at all.

Re-worded could be: once each turn, a methuselah can use a master phase action to exchange a master card in thier hand for one in thier ash heap. This ability cannot be used if that methuselah has played any non- trifle master cards this turn.

Yup, this still doesn't deal with MMPA, which is the biggest problem when we're talking about Anthelios. I'd like it to eat up all your master phases.

Also, a Transient of some sort would be ok, perhaps something like Week of Nightmares - everyone can put a counter or every usage puts a counter and after a certain # of counters it is gone.

Random would be ok, but id still like to see only minion cards get re-hashed. As for the time it takes, anything longer than 35 seconds is stalling, intentional or not. If you draw your third tablets and play it, you then start counting out 12-13 cards that arent concealed weapons or other things not needed once set up, and then pick pne and shuffle. You may take longer to shuffle, but most "strategic" (stalling) time seems to be deciding on masters torecur. Imbued untap phases should never be faster than an ashur tablets decision, and longer than 45 seconds plus 30 seconds of shuffling is too long for either. I wish errata on cards could stop slow play, but that feels too optimistic.

Transient would be ok, but id also like to see it used only once a turn and eat up mpa's. Aside from saying masters cant be played, im unsure how to word that. The trifle thing was an attempt to make it still the same for non mmpa decks, so they can vessel/wider view/whatever and use it.
