I've been trying to decide whether to take my Tzimisze a classic Warghoul direction with weenie group 2/3 Tzimiszce (vtesone.wordpress.com/2007/11/05/deck-archetypes-war-ghoul/) or a Tzimisce wall direction (www.vekn.net/forum/7-deck-clinic/42658-first-tzimisce-intercept-deck-thoughts). Then I came across the "wallghoul" concept which allows you to wall up with your Warghouls with Maris Streck and the Unmasking. You can see a version of the deck that won the 2012 Belgian NC on the TWDA by searching up Emiliano Imeroni.

I like that the deck appears to have more ousting potential than the "Tzimisze wall" (Rushes, and can stealth bleed with OBF), OBF is also obviously good for brining out the Warghouls, and it can still block decently with unmasking and Maris' special.

I've drafted a deck below. It includes Lady Zara Slatikov in addition to Maris. There's probably too many masters, and I do worry about Maris' blood. Let me know what you think...I am curious to hear thoughts on how such a deck performs (or you think would perform) compared to the classic warghoul and Tzimisze wall decks. Cheers!

Deck Name: "Wallghoul"
Author:
Description:
How do you intend to oust?
Warghouls do there thing to prey's minions (probably after predator): fame, dragonbound, army of rats, and smiling jack eat away at them. Zara and Maris can occasionally stealth bleed in for 1 or 2 (2 if bleed retainer sticks around).

How do you intend to keep from being ousted?

Warghouls back rush, bleed bounce, warghouls with unmasking and Maris special to gain intercept wall up. Parity shift with vessels and perfectionists for pool management.

What do you want your ready region to look like (ie, How many guys are you planning on getting out)?

Zara, Maris, and 2 weenies.

What do you want your average turn to look like?
Get both Zara (could go weenie route alternatively) and Maris out + a couple war ghouls, use Maris to library dig, bring out a retainer, parity shift, or stealth bleed, Zara to stealth bleed, bring out more retainers or War Ghouls.

What problems have you observed with the deck in play?
N.A. haven't played.

Really happy to see Emiliano, who is a really great player/person get some respect.
Not the easiest deck to play but brilliant designed none the less ...
If i were you I would change a couple of obf stealth cards into cloack the gathering so the small tzimisce can get extra stealth too (if needed) to put a war ghoul into play.
ps I always thought about the combo with guedado and powerbase luanda / tshwane

Great point, I'll definately swap in some cloak the gatherings. Hmm, Guedado should probably be in here anyways given he has obf.

Must commend you, Yochanan- loved this deck idea and gave this deck a whirl today (hope you don't mind ) and it is was great fun to play. Only thing that didn't seem to work out so well were the traps- might just be the local meta, but I ran into enough s:ce and press-to-end combat decks to make these cards something of a waste of time when throwing the ghouls around.

Also should mention that I swapped out two Jakes for an extra J.S + Tasha. The extra bleed was worth the wasted action to my mind and worked out well- the additional bleeding power helped swing the vamps into stealth-bleed mode for an oust on a combat-oriented Methuselah in the mid game.

Traps make people playing many decks cry, but sce, pressing, animalism, and celerity guns typically beat warghouls. Carlton diez to trap ghoul, stickmen get consumed by multiple traps, and things relying on dodges or agg do as well.

As for Jake out and retainers in, Jake is essential for speedy ghouls, since turn 2 gets a ghoul if turn one is jake and influence a weenie. This deck style has won, remember, so whatever meta adaptions are legit takes on a strong (sub)archetype.

Maris not getting made useless (obviously ghouls stop rushes, but dumb stuff happens) is important, since she makes the decks midgame oomph stretch to lategame. Something ive noticed is if a deck cant deal with notmal ghouls, this deck just walls all over them. Needing to bypass unmasking is easy to deal with if big punch and precwnt one a round is a problem. Having +X intercept on demand is another story. Thats where traps hurt, since even fortitude becomes a gamble eventually. Gotsdam and Henry Taylor, where you have ready access to sce, are the only things who can stop worrying about trap ghouls. DI 2 stops majesty when blocking, its often times worth looking at hiw to make this style deck work in your meta if sce is everywhere.

Nsa trio is a thing. TV speeds up blood loss with trio out. Just get setup and laugh maniacally....
