Powerbase: Berkeley - Eat the Rich

10 players
2r + Final
Winner: Mark Jasper 1 GW and 4 VP (1.5 VP in the Final)
www.vekn.net/event-calendar/event/8973

Final: Mark Jasper (Anu and Legionairres) -> Lev Jasper (Unnamed Barrenness Twister) -> Kenneth Davenport (Camarilla Followers of Set stealth vote) -> David Anderson (Nergal Force of Will Bleedzooka) -> Rick Phillips (G2-3 Anarch Tremere/Tremere Anti Toolbox)

Deck Name: Anu's Legion
Author: Mark Jasper

Description: A more bleedy version of the Legion of Skulls deck I won with in June. That deck was a bit slow so this one is trying to get faster ousts by using Anu Dipnitatpa's special ability. Bring out a Harbinger or two, some Legionairres and then Anu to make all of their bleeds for 2. Soul Feasting and some other blood gain stuff to refill Anu. Didn't draw Anu in the final, but I had the top seed and managed to oust my brother with 1 minute to spare. I actually think the version I won with in June is better, since it is less threatening and more versatile. Legionairres are awesome. Very strong, but not overpowered.

How did the vengeful spirits work out?
I've been trying to talk myself into a g5-6 deck with legionnaires, but Erlik is quite obscenely useful, with his built in grooming for 5, standing bleed and standing hand size.

Vengeful Spirits are great. With Shroud Mastery, you unlock after recruiting them. They are non-unique, cost only 1 blood, give +1 bleed each, and deter blocking because of the extra punch they provide, especially if you have 2 or more. What's not to like about them? I said in the TWD post that the deck I won with in June is probably better since it's more versatile. That's the one with Erlik and Erebus. I only used G5-6 this time to be able to use Anu. Mordechai is great so this deck should have a second copy of him and one fewer Hecate, but Erlik is too awesome (+1 bleed, +1 hand size, Forced March, and the Grooming for 5) and Erebus, Bablawo, Nicomedes, and Zygodat all have excellent special abilities. Solomon and Nicomedes are cheaper and can come out right way with Erlik.
