Tournament: Zillah's Tears III - Body of Sun
Event Calendar link: www.vekn.net/event-calendar/event/9178
Date: Sunday 2nd of June 2019
Place: ZILLA, Kielotie 14 01300 Vantaa, Finland
Players: 12
Format: Standard Constructed, 3R+F
Organizer&Head Judge: Teemu Pulkkinen
Winner: Antti Penttilä (see below for deck list)

Zillah's Tears III - Body of Sun continued the glorious tradition of having a tournament each month in the Southern Finland area. 12 Methuselah arrived to the tournament venue, big thanks to all of the participants. Worth of note was that each game ended in a game win, which says something of the high skill level of the Finnish players that were participating. :)

The final table was:
1. Tommi Hakomaa (Tupdogs and Nephandi , 3rd seed)
2. Matti Palomäki (Apolonia Charnecki and Malk Friends, 5th seed)
3. Antti Penttilä (Khurshid Dream Team, 2nd seed)
4. Juha Laukkanen (Sundervere bleed, 4th seed)
5. Marko Saari (Rock Cat combat, 1st seed)

The finalists can provide a more thorough summary what happened, but first player to be ousted was Marko after which Tommi ousted Matti. Last oust was Antti ousting Juha. Thus, Antti won the tournament as higher seed than Tommi even though both were left with 1,5 VP in the end. Congrats for the win!

Approved.
Congrats to Andy!

BTW Did you use the extra 10 minutes of playtime per oust during finals?

The extra playtime per oust rule wasn't used during the finals as it had not been advertised in the tournament announcement. Also majority of the players who were participating were either against or had no opinion on using the rule, so we decided not to use it this time as it hasn't been made official.

Worth noting that Marko's rock cat deck had 3 game wins when heading into the finals. He ruminated on his seat position on the final table for something like 10 minutes, then decided to go behind Tommi's nephandi/tupdog deck, which may have been a mistake in my opinion. If combat decks would've been crosstable, they would have dominated the table in my opinion. But Marko was more afraid of having his recruit actions blocked apparently. (I also find it crazy that someone would willingly be my prey)

Then Tommi immediately felt compelled that he and Marko should fight to the death, as rock cats beat both tupdogs and nephandi in combat. Tommi went only backwards until Marko was ousted. Matti and Antti had very slow starts and to my surprise I actually had a game, which I was sure I wouldn't have as I was playing the only deck without much combat.

Needless to say, I was donated (I actually simply did what my deck was supposed to do, lot of pool damage) a VP as everyone seemed to want Marko ousted. Then I came a hair short of a second VP off Tommi, but Antti had the intercept needed to stop my reckless agitation. Legionnaires were unleashed and I was ousted eventually, as was Matti who seemed to have little game against ally combat. The duel of Tommi vs Antti went to the legionnaires.

I'd love to see the decklist for the Rock Cat deck, especially since it did so well in the preliminary rounds.
