file Mulligans in VTES?

At the competitive level, I'm a proponent of mulligans in VTES. Let me break my argument into pros and cons:

Pro:
No "dead draws"
Easier to hit combos
More competitive games
More streamlined deck building
Opens up new strategies

Cons:
potential to abuse combos
competitive advantage when you know other player's decks
Game is meant to cycle cards, may disrupt natural order

What do you think? What are some reasons for and against having a mulligan? What about a crypt mulligan?

for my playgroup's casual games we allow a crypt mulligan and a library mulligan.

There is nothing wrong with partial mulligans with no redraws. It doesn't even affect any card and can be done as balancing measure.

Personally, I don't really like it, and I've gotten screwed by bad draws as much as the next guy. I like risk/reward in deck building, and IMO it mitigates that too much with how it would change card ratios.

Instead of running 4 Zillahs, for instance, how about I just run 2 and my odds of getting one early are almost the same with a mulligan, and also have less chance of drawing one late. I know that probably sounds great to some of you guys, but I think that it takes too much out of the importance of chance vs. predictability..

I don’t mind this casually, if someone insists.
The ones that need a mulligan the most are new players, but they have the hardest time realizing it.
Competitively, I’m ambivalent.
Definite no for crypt, but maybe library.

There are Wider View for the crypt, Deal with the Devil for the library and a thread hear some time ago about best ways to get rid of spare masters.

;)

Mulligans break deck construction in a half - you should aim for a completely different card ratios in such environment.
