file [proposal] 'New' play area

The current Trap discussion/suggestion reminded me of an observation that I've made ages ago: most players play cards to the playing area, even non-permanent cards, and only move them to the ash heap once it is no longer relevant to the current game state.

For example: when playing Cariorn Crows, it is common to leave the card in the playing area for the duration of the combat - strictly speaking the card should be simply shown to all players and moved to the ash heap immediately. Everybody understands that the card is actually in the ash heap and not 'in play', but it is a common way to remind everyone of the lingering effect of the card. This is specially useful for new players.

So I would like to propose an addition to the current rules that reflects the reality of how the cards are actually played: to create a 'temporary play area' where cards are put for the duration of their effect, but which is still part of the ash heap for gameplay purposes. This would act only as a reminder of which cards have been played (with no impact on current gameplay mechanics), and should be cleaned up at the end of every phase (ie, every card which has no effect beyond the current phase is moved to the 'permanent' ash heap).

What do you guys think?

The cards you play do not go to the ash heap immediately, they are in 'limbo'.

That only applies to action cards - other card types are played to the ash heap (except when explicitly put in play).

1.6.1 (...)A card is played by placing it face up in the playing area or by showing it to the other players and placing it face up in the ash heap.(...)

6.1.6 (...)To take the action described on an action card in your hand, play the card and lock the acting minion. If the action is successful, it resolves as indicated on the card (and the cost, if any, is paid). If the action is unsuccessful, the card is burned.(...)

1.6.3. Minion Cards
Minion cards are cards that your vampires and allies (collectively referred to as "minions") play. Unless the card states otherwise, a minion card is burned after a minion plays it.

Correct. Only action cards are in limbo, waiting for resolution. All other cards are resolved immediately.

Adding a new area is not a good idea. Leaving the Carrion Crows on the table is just a convention some players follow, but some put their cards directly in the ash heap. Anyway, it is not worth the extra rules requires by adding a new area.

I understand that creating a new area may be troublesome, but the idea is to simply codify that convention. If you can do that without creating a new area, it would be even better - I just failed to see an easy way to do that.
I can see advantages in clarity mainly for combat and stealth/intercept interactions, both of which are very common in the game.
