Would just like to announce to everyone that there is now regular league play two nights a week, in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Games take place at Goodsell Collectables (formerly Action Packed Comics) @ 211A Front Street, Belleville, Ontario.

Monday night's V:TES session starts at 5pm, and Wednesday night's session starts at 6.

Entry into the league is $5 per month, but playing itself is free (you just won't accumulate any points if your dues aren't paid.)

All players receive their choice of 2 promo cards when they pay their league dues for the month. At the end of 6 months or $200 collected in league dues (whichever comes last) prizes will be awarded to the players who score the most league points!

1st prize will include an unopened box of Dark Sovereigns.
2nd prize will include the V:TES Strategy Guide.
Prizes will also include store credit.

The point system works as follows:

1 point for paying league dues.
1 point for each session you attend while your dues are paid.
1 point for each victory point you have at the end of a league game while your dues are paid.
1 point for recruiting a new player if that player ends up playing in at least 5 sessions!
and 1 additional point if they end up joining the league!

Also, the final survivor of each league game (games are NO TIME LIMIT) gets rewarded for their efforts with a V:TES booster pack, their choice of whatever the store has in stock :)

Since we started at the beginning of June, this league has been a tremendous success! I wanted to get our players to participate in tournament play but for whatever reason couldn't seem to make it happen, and the numbers weren't consistently there for it. But now, our regular participation has more than doubled to averaging 8-10 players per night, as opposed to 4-5 before league play started, and it has also solved the problem we had with players who seemed to take more delight in being as disruptive to the game flow as possible with pointless cross-table attacks and such, as opposed to actually playing to earn victory points.

Another nice thing is that adding some regular organization to our games @ the shop has generated some interest among the Magic players as well, and it's always nice having experienced CCG players join us to pick up the game.

If you ever find yourself in the area, feel free to drop in and steal the Edge from us! If you're new, we have decks to lend to beginners, and are happy to teach!
