I'll point out that in all those cases, the question for timing of playing cards is the issue - and Crypt's Son isn't playing a card, it's activating an effect already in play. But I don't think there is a practical difference - creating an effect is creating an effect, regardless of mechanism.

Indeed, there is no difference between a card or an effect that uses the same timing condition.

Not sure i get the card at all. If it used before the combat, is the blocking vamp tapped?

If not, can't he just block again?

The block was successful, so the blocking minion taps* for successfully blocking.

Then the combat is cancelled, and the action continues as if unblocked.

* barring cards like Atonement etc.
