file Raw Recruit how to play

14 Jun 2017 13:16 #82202 by Keiran
Hello!
Please, describe how to play Raw Recruit

+1 stealth action. Requires a slave. (D) Put this card in play and move a vampire in torpor to this card, out of play. A vampire you control to whom this Gargoyle is a slave may remove that vampire from the game as a +1 stealth action to turn this card into a Gargoyle with the same capacity and Fortitude [for], Potence [pot], Visceratika [vis] and flight [FLIGHT], enslaved to the acting vampire's clan.

I don't understand:
- Is new Gargoyle in unique or not?
- Does it come to the game in minion or in influence phase?
- How many blood Gargoyle has when coming to play?
- Is it tapped/untapped/save the state of base vampire?

Thanks!

> All gargoyles created by Raw Recruit are non-unique.

Correct.

- Does it come to the game in minion or in influence phase?

The Raw REcruit vampire comes into play as a vampire when you take the action described in its card text. "A vampire you control to whom this Gargoyle is a slave may remove that vampire from the game as a +1 stealth action to turn this card into a Gargoyle with the same capacity and Fortitude [for], Potence [pot], Visceratika [vis] and flight [FLIGHT], enslaved to the acting vampire's clan." Since actions happen in the minion phase, this will happen in the minion phase.

(In much the same way, a vampire created by The Embrace or Creation Rites comes into play when that action is taken.)

- How many blood Gargoyle has when coming to play?

None. Nothing gives it any blood.

- Is it tapped/untapped/save the state of base vampire?

By default, cards come into play untapped - so Raw Recruit is untapped.

There is no ''base vampire'. The vampire who was in torpor is removed from the game, and Raw Recruit turns into a completely brand new vampire that - in V:TES terms - has no relationship whatsoever to that vampire.

- If that vampire had any blood, it's irrelevant.
- If that vampire had any equipment, the Raw REcruit does not get it.
- If that vampire had a Title card (e.g. Praxis Seizure: Wherever), the Raw Recruit does not get it.
- If that vampire had some lingering detrimental effect, such as an Incriminating Videotape targeting it, the Raw Recruit is not affected by it.
