Why is it that if you use an ability on a weapon (e.g., maneuver on a gun) then you are committed to using that weapon for the next strike but if you use the rush ability on a Talbot's Chainsaw (a weapon) then you are not committed to using it as the next (first) strike in combat? It seems terribly inconsistent to me. The maneuver on a gun and the rush on Talbot's should be treated the same -- they are both capabilities granted by the weapon.

Strike: 3 damage. If bearer is ready during your unlock phase, a ready minion you control takes 3 unpreventable damage. Bearer cannot hunt. Bearer may enter combat with a minion controlled by another Methuselah as a +1 stealth (D) action. Bearer gets a press, only usable to continue combat on the first round, and may prevent up to 1 damage each combat.

Because the designers ran out of text-box space for the line "If you use this ability to enter combat, this vampire's first initial strike that round of combat must be with this weapon."

Which is another way of saying that VTES has horrible layout and graphic design. It really doesn't help that the cards separate effects are not broken up with line-breaks for easy readibility, but in addition to that the elders here love the green marble stripe on the left that takes up 1/6 of the card's real estate.

Rulebook.

Maybe. Or it would make rules more complicated for only a few cards.

[To be fair, the actual problem with Talbot's Chainsaw is that it's not a melee weapon. It's just a weapon, mechanically. Won't combo with melee weapon techs. Iz broke, plz fix.]

If Bearer in combat him always must use press to continue combat in first round,right,even if no use weapon as strike press is mandatory?
