The revised wording should be correct and equivalent to the official wording. If it is, there is no reason for the players to be confused.

Yeah, but the official wording on Amaranth is juxtaposed against unofficial card layouts. I'm therefore not sure why players would assume anything on Amaranth is official. I'd assume the opposite and that someone provided revised text and layouts for personal use.
