Cannot create new accounts

Hello everyone! I got some friends that want to register in the VEKN but they cannot create the accounts. When you fill all the fields with the information and the anti-spam questions and press the register button, it shows a blank page with a message ("Could not open socket"). Can it be repaired? Specially one of my friends have an special interest on it because she's gonna be the new Prince(ss) of our town.

I'm running Google Chrome on Windows 7, but i tried with IE too.

Same problem in here. The guy who is supposed to succeed me as the Prince of Szczecin cannot create an account at vekn.net. The very same socket theme.
