file CSV for Lost Kindred are available

Hey Ankha,

Are you open to the idea of hosting the CSV / Text files in some sort of Git repo.

It's already publicly viewable here, and it would allow us to submit Pull requests as a community to fix typos, etc.

This would hopefully mean less work for you

I am currently maintaining two sets of CSV: the revised ones (will all the future cardtexts), and the legacy one that contains only the printed cardtexts and official errata.
Both are already available on the download page. Which ones would you like to contribute to?

Why not both? The CSV format used can be easily worked with using git, which in turn allows easy cooperation and gives a version control to boot.

Another thing entirely, in the latest version of both Revised and 'normal' CSV's, there's all manner of {} symbols in the card text, for example for "Absolution of the Diabolist":

"{}{O}ut-of-turn. Requires a ready justicar or Inner Circle member. {Only usable when a vampire {would} be burned by a blood hunt.} {Usable} during your minion phase.{}
Cancel that blood hunt {instead}."

Is this on purpose? If so, what are the {}'s for? Are they changes, highlighted keywords, something else entirely?

I think the current official one ( legacy ) would be the best benefit, as that combined with the card ruling archive is what people are going to refer back to in case of a dispute.

In theory you can use the same mechanism we would use to propose changes to maintain your revised text too, in the end it's just a merge between a stable master, and a development branch.

Ankha, am I correct assuming you are not familiar with git and/or GitHub?

In that case, would it be useful if ShanDow and/or I make a proof of concept repository, showing how it would work and what the benefits are?

The {}'s indicate changed text. Compare that to the current text from secretlibrary, which has not yet updated to the latest CSV file.

Master: out-of-turn.
Requires a ready justicar or Inner Circle member. This card is playable during your minion phase. Only usable when a vampire is about to be burned by a blood hunt. Cancel that blood hunt.

Because you would need to update both each time there would be a change. It is extra work, with a risk of error.

They indicate changes, such as errata.
