It's debatable. I think most would agree Howler is more than 1 pool better than Muricia. The lack of ANI in group 2 hurts a little, but Murder of Crows can more or less equalize that as you really only need it for superior Carrion Crows. The Siamese's +1 bleed helps a lot. David Quiñonero's Ahrimanes decks do a really good job of working around the inferior Animalism.

Bur for Rodimus deck here (the one we are talking about), this group of ahrimanes is a perfect fit.

Well, you see, if I agreed with that I wouldn't have brought it up. It hardly matters what level of Animalism you have for the retainers. He's got a few reaction cards that are still pretty good at ani and finally there's Carrion Crows and Aid From Bats, which you both pretty much want to have at superior. However with Murder of Crows and Swiftness of the Stag you can still do pretty well at ani. That's why I brought up David Quiñonero's decks. But anyway, that's enough. The group Rodd is using isn't terrible. I just like the other one better.

Yes, all around, g2 is better. However, this group, if you (mostly) disregard PRE is rather workable and their average capacity is smaller by a wide margin:

(let's say 10-11 Ahrimanes vamps and one to two out of clan 2-caps):
4 Howler + 2 Siamese + 2 Cynthia + 1 Juanita + 1 Nettie + 1 Dani + 1 Lisa Noble=5.83 average
3 Muricia + 3 Effie + 2 Sahana + 2 Darlene + 1 Aiyana + 1 Walker Grimes = 4.50 average

Perhaps something to think about...

Since your crypt is staring Muricia already anyway, why not include Celeste Lamontagne and Janey Pickman to take advantage of her special?
