Here is the list of judges who have been accredited by the Vampire: Elder Kindred Network:

The judges featured on the list have successfully passed the relevant exam. The period of judge accreditation is valid for three years, or until the release of a new rulebook, whichever comes first.

Upon completion of this term, accreditation is automatically renewed provided the judge continues to judge and/or to play at VEKN-sanctioned tournament events at a regularity of no less than 60 days.

At present, the sole means of accreditation as a judge is through participation in one of the announced exams. However, we are actively working towards expanding this system globally.

Judge exam types

Elder Judge exam: 100-question exam (35 easy, 35 medium, 30 hard questions). Passing score: 80% (120 minutes for an in-person exam).

Ancilla Judge exam: 50-question exam (35 easy, 10 medium, 5 hard questions). Passing score: 80%. (60 minutes for an in-person exam).

Judge ranks

Elder Judge: Requires correctly answering at least 80% of the questions on the Elder Judge exam.

Ancilla Judge: Requires correctly answering at least 80% of the questions on the Ancilla Judge Exam, or scoring between 60% and 79% on the Elder Judge exam.

Neonate Judge: Requires correctly answering between 60% and 79% of the questions on the Ancilla Judge exam, or scoring between 50% and 59% on the Elder Judge exam.

Do you want to do the Judge exam?

A player who is not an Elder Judge may attempt an exam:

• If they pass the Judge exam, they may attempt the Elder Judge exam after two months.
• If they fail the Judge exam, they can retake any exam after six months.
• If they fail the Elder Judge exam, they can retake the Judge exam after two months.
• If they fail the Elder Judge exam, they can retake the Elder Judge level after six months.

If the VEKN has clear evidence that any player (judge or not) leaks the content of any exam, fully or partially, they will lose any judge title they hold and will be banned from the judge system.

Recommendations for Organizing a Tournament

Organizing a tournament, especially with a large number of participants, requires careful planning and attention to detail to ensure that everything runs smoothly and fairly. Here are some essential recommendations for successfully managing a tournament:

Announce the Tournament and Its Format in Advance
Ensure that the tournament details (such as the format, rounds, final, schedule, location, and any entry fees) are clearly communicated to all participants well in advance. This helps players prepare accordingly and reduces confusion on the day of the event.

Punctuality is Key
One of the most common challenges in large tournaments is keeping everything on schedule. It’s crucial to emphasize the importance of punctuality for all rounds to avoid delays. Having clear time slots and sticking to them will prevent the event from running late and causing frustration among participants.

Dedicated Judges
For tournaments with more than 50 players, it is essential to have at least one dedicated judge who is not participating in the tournament.

Additionally, for every 50 players beyond the initial 50, assign one dedicated assistant judge to help manage the workload. For example:

51–100 players: 1 head judge + 1 assistant judge
101–150 players: 1 head judge + 2 assistant judges
And so on.
