VTES Liliths Call 2025

Report by Andrea Canto, Co-Organizer Lilith´s Call 2025, Vtes Liliths, with comment by the winner:

VTES Liliths
VTES Liliths is a community created in Chile with the main goal of welcoming, giving visibility to, and supporting women players and queer players within the world of Vampire: The Eternal Struggle, creating a safe, respectful, and collaborative space to play, learn, and share as a community.
The creation of Liliths arises as a response to a long-standing reality within the game: the constant dropout of players belonging to these groups, driven by various factors that make it difficult for them to remain in traditional gaming spaces. Faced with this reality, Liliths stands as a place where all people can develop through respect, trust, and equality.

VTES Liliths Call 2025

Currently, the community is made up of 16 members, of whom approximately 9 are active players. In addition, we have collaborators—many of them companions or partners of players—who represent a fundamental contribution to the group, especially in organizational and logistical support, as was clearly demonstrated during the realization of Lilith’s Call 1.

Our objective as a community is to continue growing throughout 2026, strengthening participation, generating new educational and competitive spaces, and projecting ourselves not only at a national level but also internationally, as a benchmark for an inclusive community within VTES.

Lilith’s Call
Lilith’s Call was conceived as the first major event open to the entire VTES community, with the purpose of officially introducing the Liliths group, its identity, its inclusive proposal, and its high organizational standards.

The tournament was designed as a space for meeting, competition, and community, where players from different backgrounds could share in a respectful, well-organized environment with a strong aesthetic identity.

The tournament format was V5 Limited, which allowed for a balanced, strategic, and accessible experience for different skill levels, enhancing the diversity of decks and playstyles throughout the day.

Lilith’s Call marked a milestone for the community, establishing itself as a reference event and initiating a projection that already includes its second edition: Lilith’s Call 2.

Tournament Venue: Espacio Ailanto
Espacio Ailanto is a community cultural center located at Huérfanos 3116, in the heart of the historic Barrio Yungay in downtown Santiago.

What the venue offers
• A space designed for art, culture, community, and gatherings: its mission states that it is open to “all people,” promoting respect, inclusion, self-management, and a strong sense of collective.
• Its structure allows it to host activities of various scales: workshops, exhibitions, fairs, and community gatherings—indicating that its indoor spaces are versatile.
• It operates under a self-managed model, with a team of coordinators, artists, and collaborators who sustain the space with a community-driven ethic, reinforcing its character as an inclusive “safe space.”

Location and access
• Located in downtown Santiago, in Barrio Yungay—a central, historic area with good connectivity.
• According to its public outreach, it is identified as an accessible space for the community.
• Close to a metro station—allowing most players and participants to arrive relatively easily (near Quinta Normal station, consistent with Barrio Yungay’s proximity to downtown Santiago).

Interior Layout, Capacity, and Amenities
During Lilith’s Call 1, the venue functioned as follows:
• The venue had two main rooms, each capable of comfortably accommodating 5 players per table. This proved ideal when the 29 tournament players gathered, offering sufficient space, comfort, and good distribution.
• The space also offered an indoor dining area, allowing participants to have lunch without leaving the venue, facilitating logistics, avoiding unnecessary movement, and strengthening the sense of community.
• There were enough restrooms available, adding to overall comfort.
• There were multiple common areas: terrace/patio-style spaces, rest areas, and zones where companions or non-playing attendees could wait, talk, or relax without interfering with the matches.

Alignment with the Liliths Philosophy
Choosing Espacio Ailanto for Lilith’s Call was fully consistent with the values of our group:
• It is an inclusive, community-oriented space focused on art, collaboration, and collective coexistence.
• Its structure allows both concentrated activity (matches, tournament play) and community, rest, and social interaction—ideal for what a VTES event with companions typically requires.
• Being located in downtown Santiago with good access made it easier for people from different areas to attend.

Tournament Development
Lilith’s Call 1 was held under the V5 Limited format, following the official list published by Black Chantry Productions, allowing for a balanced competitive environment focused on the game’s modern dynamics.

Although 37 players were registered, 29 players ultimately participated, consolidating the event as one of the most highly attended in the recent tournament circuit and demonstrating the growing interest in curated and accessible formats.

Round 1
From the very first round, the diversity of the metagame became evident. There was a strong presence of:
• Direct, aggressive bleed decks,
• Block and control decks,
• Political strategies, especially oriented toward vote manipulation and capitalizing on action windows.

The most represented clans were Banu Haqim, Lasombra, Brujah, and Gangrel, all with varied archetypes but clearly marked by the V5 identity: constant pressure, efficiency in pool damage, and immediate response capacity.

The first round was marked by tense matches, where many players chose to carefully measure the table before executing explosive plays. Several tables ended with very close victories, projecting a highly competitive final.

VTES Liliths Call 2025

VTES Liliths Call 2025
Round 2
In the second round, there was a notable increase in aggressiveness and pace, especially at tables where players had already identified the dominant archetypes of the event:
• Bleed decks began to prevail with more refined technique.
• Block decks demonstrated their solidity, stopping key plays and wearing down demanding predators.
• Political decks showed that, despite the limited format, they still had presence and the ability to reshape the table through decisive votes.

Banu Haqim maintained their strong performance with constant pressure strategies and combat/control tools. Lasombra exploited their consistent bleed and manipulation capabilities. Brujah stood out for their political flexibility and direct combat. Gangrel offered unpredictable tables with territorial control and the ability to endure long games.

Final qualification was decided by small tactical details, confirming that the overall level of the tournament was exceptionally high.

Finalists and Decks
1. Gabriela Espina Salinas 2 GW 8.0 VP (Malkavian)
2. Miguel Cortés 1 GW 6.0 VP (Lasombra)
3. Rodrigo Cortés 1 GW 5.0 VP (Ravnos)
4. Ignacio Vásquez Pizarro 1 GW 4.5 VP (Path of Power and the Inner Voice)
5. Raul Sanchez 1 GW 4.0 VP (Path of Caine)

Welcome Pack & Prizes – Lilith’s Call
One of the most outstanding aspects of Lilith’s Call 1 was its Welcome Pack, which was almost entirely self-produced by the organization, demonstrating a high level of commitment, in-house production, and dedication from the Liliths team.

The Welcome Pack had a registration value of approximately €10, and far exceeded expectations in terms of both content and quality. Each player received:
• Official Lilith’s Call event playmat
• Promotional cards
• Event badge
• Exclusive stickers
• Illustrated art print
• Event edge

All of these items were specially designed and produced for this edition, delivering identity, collectible value, and a complete experience from the very beginning of the tournament.

Tournament Prizes
The prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, previously announced on official social media channels, consisted of:
• Official T-shirts produced by the organization, includingone altered-art card for 1st place by illustrator Anastassia Horbunova
• Set of promotional cards
• Cards autographed by international VTES illustrators, including Anastassia Horbunova and o Krzysztof Bieniawski
These signed cards were among the most highly valued prizes by the players, both for their artistic value and their unique, collectible nature.

Special Recognition – Outstanding Player
In addition to the placement prizes, the tournament included a special recognition for the outstanding female player (who also achieved 3rd place at the final table), who received a piece of jewelry as a special gift—symbolizing recognition, visibility, and appreciation within the competitive space.
This gesture reinforces one of the fundamental pillars of Liliths: to highlight, support, and celebrate the participation of women and dissident identities within VTES.

VTES Liliths Call 2025

Final seating order: Ignacio “Peluca” (Path of Power) > Raul (Path of Caine) > Mike (Lasombra Obl + Dom) > Rodrigo (Ravnos V5 Bleed) > Gabi (Malkavian V5)

Some words from Ignacio Vazquez, the winner:
"I chose Raúl and his Path of Caine as my prey only because my other option was to be his prey and have no control over the rest of the Bounces that could end up at my doorstep. As the predator of the only player at the table without bounce, I took the option that would let me capitalize on those bleeds, at the cost of provoking even more of his rushes.

Regarding the game, I had a very good opening hand with an Unholy Sacrament, 4 transfers, and Khin Aye in the uncontrolled region. I brought up my first vampire quickly and managed to put Black Forest Base in play, which was crucial to staying in the game in the following rounds, and also to start the offense with a Cold War.

As the rounds progressed, it was clear from afar that Miguel was the strongest player. Raúl attempted a couple of rushes towards my side of the table, and with the second one he managed to leave Khin Aye at zero blood. In that same round, Miguel recruited three Shadow Sentinels, and his snowball kept growing.

My predator, Gabriela, had a timid start with her Malkavians, but soon the 4+ bleeds started coming. In the second-to-last round of the final she managed to bring me down to 1 pool from being ousted. Luckily, I drew two Villeins, and I had already brought up a 10-cap vampire the previous round, hoping to finish off my prey. I played the Villeins, went up to 11 pool with two ready vampires and Khin Aye in torpor. I had vote dominance at the table, and only Miguel had already played the Grim Reaper routine on Rodrigo and Gabriela.

I secured my VP from Raúl, played a couple of Banishments against Miguel, and in the last round he could only play with five Shadow Sentinels—he had to pay 5 pool for them, take 5 from me, and then bring Tomazzo back into play.

And on my turn everything was already set — with a Kine in hand it was GG.
It was a very tense final since all the decks had an active game plan. The reactions the five of us were playing were mostly Bounce or Reduction. Only Raúl had strong combat; the rest of us had mostly deterrent combat, almost all combat ends or maneuvers."

Tournament winning deck: “Defy the Edict of Worms Revision 4.1” by Darby Keeney

“Probably my best assembled deck but it's losing value as political decks regain popularity and vampire capacities rise. On the plus side, Club Illusion is less dangerous to drop and I'm more likely to actually control Carfax Abbey and Anarch Railroad.
The deck is still really fun to play and should improve with at least one NB vampire screaming to be included. Ironically, I was stuck with no-Baron C-team vampires in prelim games 2 and 3; inferior Protean is far less helpful, but I still managed a GW with a chump-only decrypt.
The library keeps self-bloating to above 82 cards. This iteration runs Form of the Cobra, which is shockingly good in discouraging block attempts and mitigates Aggressive Corpse rushes. Could probably lose one Form of Mist with these in place (or maybe 2 FotC, 4 FoM?). I pulled the EU-meta Blood Trade but didn't get the Uncoiling back in. It really needs to be in here with Hecata at seemingly every table.”

Pablo D Hidalgo VTES Righteous Blade
Greetings fellow Methuselahs,

Newsletter time again, and as has become tradition, we start with an art and card preview. Righteous Blade is a new library card in the upcoming New Blood Salubri pack, planned for a late February release. The Salubri preconstructed deck has a more bleedy approach, but these new additions lean more into the clan being out to hunt down "fiendish" Kindred (their definition, of course!), and to do so wielding melee weapons, particularly swords, just like holy warriors of old. The fantastic art is by Pablo D. Hidalgo.

Watchlist Update November 2025

The announcement of November 27:

This is a short announcement about two cards. A full announcement about Vampire: The Eternal Struggle cards and rules on the watchlist will be published towards the end of the year. No changes are expected for cards that are currently banned.

Life Boon
The card Life Boon joins the watchlist.

Why?
This card is very 1994 with its design as it breaks one of the fundamental rules of the game, the Predator-Prey relationship. It has similarities with Kindred Restructure and Dramatic Upheaval.

What next?
The card is under watch and the Design and Rules teams will continue listening to feedback on Life Boon. An update in this matter is expected in May 2026.

Veil of Darkness
The card Veil of Darkness joins the watchlist and is expected to be banned from organised play.

Why?
The card provides a limited effect, and it is problematic to handle at the table with a large amount of rollback issues on tables despite its limited use. It was created based on the old Gehenna End Times storyline, so it is difficult to change in the current storyline.

What next?
The card will not be banned before May 2026. The Design and Rules teams will continue listening to feedback, but it is not expected that any errata would be viable for Veil of Darkness.

Well-thought feedback about this is welcome to !

Black Chantry Summary: November 2025

• The preview season for New Blood Ravnos, Salubri and Tzimisce is ongoing, as you can see on the top of this newsletter. Spoilers have been distributed, or will be, to a number of sources that have expressed interest in helping spread the word, and everything will of course be collected at the respective product pages at Blackchantry.com.

• Round 2 of the playtest of the Brazil and New York sets was recently sent out to playtesters. This round will end January 4. In the meantime, commissioned art is being delivered – exciting times at the art department! Three of these were already previewed in Ben Peal's presentation at EC 2025 – two pieces by Anastasiia Horbunova (left) and one by Krzysztof Bieniawski (right):

• BCP is playing tournaments, believe it or not! Some words from CEO Hugh Angseesing:

"On 15th November I was lucky enough to attend the UK Nationals at Patriot Games in Leeds. Leeds is quite a busy city and it was nice to see the Chrismtas decorations up already as I passed through it, making it seem even more exciting.

I did not have time to do a lot of preparation with my recent change in circumstances so cribbed a deck from Estel in Brazil and then changed a few things to try and test the new Path of Caine cards.

In round 1 I had Martin Weinmeyer and Mark Roberts as cross table buddies neither of whom saved me from Hecata/Lasombra ally swarm that Mikey Ferguson piloted to kill me before they split the table 2-2, with Mark ousting Mikey and Beth after I was killed.

Round 2 had more Martin but this time as a predator and I could not convince my prey to help stop his votes leading to my death - cannot rush everyone all of the time especially when banished!

In Round 3 the deck worked much better (or I did), but sadly I was unable to oust my prey before timeout.

I got to use the new cards and really enjoyed Abuse of Power and Márcio sent me some Brazilian-Portuguese versions to use:

Hugh ended up with 0.5 VP and a proud 22nd place in this event, so lets talk about something else ...

• Legacy Malkavian antitribu and Dementation cards for print-on-demand are in the very last stages of proofing as this is written. They will be up on both Drivethrucards and Gamepod really soon now, keep watch for that announcement.

• Ginés Quiñonero has started to work on the structure of a version of the VTES rulebook for the two-player variant of the game. Did you know that you still can help out with the playtesting? No registration is needed, just check out the playtest site, try the format and leave feedback.

WW News November 2025
Recent news in the World of Darkness

Two things that caught our attention from White Wolf this month:

• “Hunter: The Reckoning - A Time of Monsters” is an interactive novel by Paul Wang, set in the World of Darkness, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination. Get it at Choiceofgames.com, or check out the five part playthrough at the World of Darkness Youtube channel.

• “The Three Knives at Midnight”, a Vampire: The Masquerade New Year’s Eve story, is out now as a free PDF. This is a short Chicago-based scenario, including a coterie of six powerful, pre-generated characters, but also has advice for use in a longer chronicle. You find this at Renegade Game Studios

Also, we want to mention again the new but classic lines of t-shirts available. Good stuff!
