TR & TWD - Warsaw Station - League Finals, Warsaw (Poland), 7th December 2014

On December 7th, Methuselahs from all over Poland ventured to Warsaw to congregate for the last time in the year. Players from eleven cities showed up and met to determine who shall become the winner on the Polish VTES League.

This has been the very fifth season of the League. 86 men and women participated in the struggle, which took place in thirteen cities, and comprised eighteen tourneys throughout the year. The rivalry was fierce till the very end, as several players cherished hope that they would come out victorious. Yet, in the end, there can be only one winner.

This year, Piotr Jaworski, the very Prince of Czestochowa, and the tourney finalist, was the last vamp standing in the field. Trophies followed.

In the tourney itself, Tomasz Izydorczyk scored one more victory, which brought him back into the leader's seat in the World Ranking.

How does this nation wide VtES league actually work. Are there special league games or are tournaments used for the ranking; how is ranking determined, etc, etc.? In short: what is the (rules) framework for this?

We started 5 or 6 years ago.

We have our ranking very similar to VtES ranking (now or in the past).

We have some rules like:
1. Every city can organize 2 PVL tournaments (regular VtES tournaments, constructed format)
2. We count 6 best results (from max 6 tournaments) of each player
3. We have some special prizes like: deckbuilding, best tabletalking, best organizer etc etc.

And few more...

The NC respond for the PVL with support of few Princes/Helpers (ranking, calendar)

They are, in deed.

These are the rewards for 2013 (which shall sure as hell change with the new year, but nonetheless):

• The Grand Slam - the player who accumulates most points in the Polish ECQ, the Polish Championships, and the Polish League Finals receives this one
• The Best Tourney Organizer – players vote this one
• The Most Mobile Player - most tourneys played
• The Most Improved Player – NC's choice
• The Best Table Talker – players vote this one
• Most Game Wins
• Most Sweeps
• The Legend of the Polish VTES – players vote this one, each year a fresh one
• The Best Deck Build - NC nominated four, and players' vote followed
• Proletariat’s Award – NC's reward for the player who managed to win a single tourney with the cheapest deck (in 2013). Card prices as presented by HA Cards on the day of victory. Financed by the NC.
