Buried in cards was created by yesferatu
Hey guys,

So I just inherited a massive collection of V:TES cards going as far back as 1994. I don't know where to even begin cataloging or selling off parts of it.
It's way more than I need and I don't really want to strip it for rares.

I still play once a week and my group is around 10 people.

Can anybody suggest a solution for liquidating at the very least a ton of commons and duplicates?

My playgroup has a good-sized assortment of extra cards, contributed by past and current players. It's great to have on-hand when we get a new recruit, so they can try new things and improve their decks. So, if you or someone in your group can manage to hold onto them, it's good for your playgroup in the long term.

You can pack up about 450 cards into a USPS small flat-rate box, ships for $6 US or $18 international, I think it's the best way to do smallish lots. Could sell them directly to people here, or through eBay. Four stacks of cards in baggies or cling-wrap.

Bigger lots can go in a USPS medium flat-rate box, but packing them so that all the cards arrive safe is more work. I suggest getting the cards into packs of 200-300 cards, wrapped in paper or cling-wrap or baggies (taped up tight). Put some cardboard or sturdy paper between layers of card packs. To get top value (whether here or on eBay) you'll need to list specifically what's in there.

I've managed to get almost everything broken down into sets.
I need to decide if I should break them down further and catalog them. I'm not looking for direct sale in this post so much as a strategy for organizing and sale. Any ideas?

In addition to my personal collection, I have the following:
Jyhad - at least 2 5000 count boxes.
VTES - at least 1 1000 count box
Sabbat - At least 1 1000 count box
Sabbat War - at least 1 1000 count box
Dark Sovereigns - at least 2 1000 count boxes
Ancient Hearts - at least 2 1000 count boxes
Final Nights - at last 2 1000 count boxes
Anarchs - at least 1 500 count box
Camarilla - at least 1 1000 count box
Bloodlines - at least 1 1000 count box

What you need is to have someone knowledgeable -- if that isn't you, which it sounds like it isn't -- thumb through all your cards and give you a fair offer for them.

I can give you a few good outlets for the commons/uncommons that you can't readily sell. But without knowing what "good cards" you have, no one can give you any sale strategies.

I'm considering coming back to Madison later this year. Want to wait until then, and give me a few hours to thumb through your cards and give you an offer? :)
