I'm digging the Secret Library's TWD deck mining capability. I wanted to see which of these several vampires shows up most frequently in Ashur Tablet TWDs. Then I started looking at clan breakdowns. Here are the results.

Tournament Winning Decks with Ashur Tablets: 119
TWDs with Ashur Tablets and...

Moderate clan (>=25%): 116
Major clan (>=50%): 69
Storyline clan (>=75%): 38
Nana Buruku: 27
Pure clan (100%): 26
Anson: 24
Cybele: 23
Aksinya Daclau: 15
Cybele & Aksinya Daclau: 15
Pure clan Toreador :tore:: 10
Erik Torstensson: 8
Nana Buruku & Cybele & Aksinya Daclau: 7
Nana Buruku & Aksinya Daclau: 7
Nana Buruku & Cybele: 7
Huitzilopochtli: 4
Anson & Huitzilopochtli: 3
Pure clan Baali :baal:: 3
Pure clan Guruhi :guru:: 2
Pure clan Gangrel antitribu !gang!: 0
Isanwayen: 0 (though 1 won recently)

I thought I'd find much more Aksinya Daclau.

Those are interesting numbers. I thought there would be more Aksinya also. She makes the pile of masters shine. Maybe there is fear of contesting. I would like to see statistics of the top 50% decks in recent EC tournaments also (I don't know anything about NAC).

I think people are trying to study TWD too much. There are way too many 12-16 player tournaments where random deck can win and also not many Vtes players (or metas) are even very "tournament deck" focused. Also 5 player multiplayer game is almost impossible to metagame analyze anyways when compared to usual 1vs1 CCGs. Also random contesting of unique crypt cards between players kills the serious play and metagaming in Vtes for me.

Well that was a surprise. :P

Using the Secret Library, you can easily filter out any tournament below 25 participants or any other arbitrary number.

For example:

TWD entries since 1/1/2009 (after KoT was legal):
25+ participants: 162
25+ participants with Ashur Tablets: 31
Percentage: 19.1%

10+ participants: 758
10+ participants with Ashur Tablets: 119
Percentage: 15.7%

TWD entries since 4/1/2010 (after HttB was legal):
25+ participants: 93
25+ participants with Ashur Tablets: 27
Percentage: 29.0%

10+ participants: 473
10+ participants with Ashur Tablets: 93
Percentage: 19.7%

If anything, this sort of data demonstrates that Ashur Tablet decks are moving strongly into the metagame because they are powerful. I don't have time to do the analysis, but if anyone else wants to take a stab at seeing how the metagame changed for Memories of Mortality, Edge Explosion, and The Unmasking, I think parallels could be drawn to determine which situation had a greater impact. That data could inform any future decision making about card bans or errata.
