Event Name: The Vics 2014
5 July 2014
Melbourne, Australia
Continental Qualifier
10 Players
3R+F
Winner: Craig Love

Winning Deck List:
Two trick pony

This deck uses Pariah as a thug, with PRO pot combat and a tiny splash of Anarch tech.

Since that is such a terrible idea, it also has a Henry Twister module grafted on, so it can actually win games.

These two synergise very well, with Pariah also working to cycle through masters, (even after he gets smashed into torpor).

Crypt:

6 Pariah
6 Henry Taylor

6 cap, PRO pot pre OBF – rush, +1 strength, discard Master specials
6 cap, pro POT pre cel – combat recycling special

NOTE: I'd prefer 4/4/4 with Anarch Convert (or 6/6/6 for flavour), but I do not own any.

Trifles (10)

5 Galaric's Legacy
2 Life in the City
2 Wash
1 Wider View

NOTE: with Anarch Convert I'd all the replace Galaric's Legacy with other Trifles.

Master (30)

8 Storage Annex
3 Protean
2 Anarch revolt
2 Smiling Jack, the Anarch
1 Fame
1 Guardian Angel
1 Erciyes Fragment, the
1 Powerbase, Mexico City
1 Jake washington (Hunter)
1 Gang Territory
1 Dreams of the Sphinx
1 Waste Management Operation

NOTE: even in this deck, this is a terrible card.

1 Rumour Mill, the
1 WMRH Talk Radio
1 Wall Street Night
1 Anarch Free Press, the
1 KRCG News Radio
1 Club Zombie
1 Channel 10

Note: these are all Sudden Reversal magnets. I never got more than 2 media locations into play.

Henry stuff (16)

5 Earth Meld
3 Forced Awakening
2 Form of Mist
2 Sport Bike
2 Wake with Evening's Freshness
1 On the Qui Vive
1 Mr Winthrop

NOTE: out of 4 games, I only got Mr Winthrop once, and no Sport Bike ever. Everyone knows Henry too well, and saves their intercept. A wise player would rather be grappled and punched for 5 than let Henry get set up.

Smackdown (34)

8 Immortal Grapple
6 Torn Signpost
4 Taste of Vitae
4 Target Vitals
2 Pulled Fangs
2 Glancing Blow
1 Haymaker
1 Form of the Ghost
1 Undead Strength
1 Groundfighting
1 Bone Spur
1 Wolf Claws
1 Slam
1 Wolf Claws

I take it one of the Wolf Claws is Claws of the Dead?

I would gather WMO is terrible in this deck because it's a 90 card deck. I see WMO being something run in a 60 card deck or a deck that blows through cards much faster than Pariah does.

I almost want to play this deck as is and see what happens, even though the only part of it that is my style is discarding masters to Pariah. Congratulations to the winner!

Having played against that deck, I think they might be both Wolf Claws. Don't recall seeing any Claws of the Dead.
It was interesting to play against. Sometimes it would strike: ce, and then every so often it would hit for 4 or 5 agg. Combat was unpredictable.
