Aye, and the latter was errated for a reason. Try playing the game for a couple of years with a card like that, come back and say it's not broken and stupid. Few cards in this game are (a one very recent one pops into mind, though *coughlilithcough*), and often it's worth evaluating. This time I propose you just take our word for it.

current misdirection becomes trife
old misdirection gets nerfed with once per game clause and maybe increased cost

i am confident once per game is the correct nerf.

"once per game" is never the correct nerf. It's the worst possible balancing drawback. Instead of just being overpowered, it'd be overpowered in favour of a random player.
