How does this card address a compelling game need?: This main purpose of this card is to enable fun combos. I am not expecting it to be especially competitive but it will allow for some crazy fun decks. It also has great combo potential with clans and disciplines that are not easily obtainable. Cross discipline use has been available to Tremere since Sabbat and Harbinger of Skulls also have this ability as they draw forth abilities from the dead. Having this ability available to Tremere which at one point their clan advantage is that they can learn any discipline makes a lot of sense.

Here is text from the last update

Having played with this card in test decks. The inferior necromancy part is fine. Giovanni use it to give themselves superior Dominate if they don't have it for a turn. It is the basic Thaumaturgy part that is too weak and needs to be reworked.The Superior Thamaturgy part is very strong. Especially when Dominate is chosen because free Govern the Aligned, Deflection and Conditioning is pretty strong. So I just going to make the text the same between the basic ability of both Necromancy and Thaumaturgy. Then give the ability to unlock during the discard phase which has much more synergy with the rest of Tremere cards.
