World of Darkness reference: Most vampires must make arrangement to recruit mortal allies during nocturnal hours. Having Fortitude means that their schedule is more flexible than most. Mythercia powers are based on Fey Sight (Storytellers Handbook to the Sabbat pg 40), Fae Sight (Guide to the Sabbat pg 106) and Fae Sight (Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition pg 455). The power varies slightly between editions.

How does this card address a compelling game need?: This opens the door for ally decks for vampires that have fortitude and makes a Kiasyd changeling deck viable. Specifically, the most powerful Ally for Kiasyd is probably Shadow Court Satyr but having multiple non-unique changeling allies also makes Song of Pan viable.

Here is text from the last update

The original version was basically The Summoning for Fortitude and it was too powerful. The basic Mytherceria text was fine, however the superior Mytherceria effect was way too good with Winterlich as it allowed him to play Shadow Court Satyr for free. Now it has an unlock component if the retainer or ally is a changeling so it is still good for Winterlich but not broken. Even at inferior it gives other Kiasyd Winterlich's ability without the pool reduction.
