In spite of the games commercial demise (no new sets released since February of 2010), there are still plenty of tournaments being run and participated in by players around the world. In fact, there have been 158 reported tournaments in the first 7 months of 2011 so far. Compare that to 211 for all of 2010, or 237 for all of 2009, or 221 for all of 2008.

Some of that will have been better reporting of events due to the switch to www.vekn.net and some will be more people just reporting their events period.

What type of V:TES tournaments do you enjoy?

Outside of a regional qualifier weekend each year and any storyline events, we have virtually no tournaments of consequence. Why we don't have more isn't clear to me, likely a combination of factors.

Of the types that typically occur, I prefer storylines. I'm concerned, though, with the lack of standard constructeds. We do plan something in three weeks.
