They was lying to us from 1994!

... (or to be precise from Dark Sovereigns expansion )

Players in VtES are not representing methuselahs, they are representing antediluvians!



For a long time I was bothered with the lore justification of methuselah players manipulating methuselah vampires as easily as a younger ones (especially with introduction of villein). When the game develops more and more methusela were added to the crypt, so it became even stranger who are those other manipulative methusela, who can control Inner Circle, Saulot, Sutekh, Hazimel and others and why there are nothing in the lore about them.

Even stranger part was the Library - it may be possible that one methusela controls other ones somehow, but he is still vampire so why his abilities (master cards) works totally different than vampires works in the game?

Then we got events, representing direct actions of antediluvians, like Becoming of Ennoja, which can be removed by ousting methusela, like his master cards.

And least but actually most important - players are those, who decides how disciplines will work in the world, by putting corresponding minion cards in the game. Only clan founders and their equals can make decisions of such scale.

It also explains why there are usually single clan decks or something close to it - antediluvians command minions throe the blood, so their minions are relatives.

It even provide some interesting justification to the imbued. Not sure I wan't to think about them, thou.
