file Moving blood counters in the influence phase

11 Jul 2013 12:38 #51312 by Glinlos
Influence phase. There's a vampire in an uncontrolled region with 3 counters of blood, the active Matusalen place 2 fingers on two blood counters and drag the counters into his pool, and, without releasing the fingers from the counters, after the comment from another player, this active Matusalem return this two counters to the uncontrolled vampire.
Is this legal?
Or is assumed that the active matusalem has already spent the four tranfers and can not return the blood to the vampire?
After this movement of counters, has the active Matusalem spend any transfer?

Thanks

There is no rule of "pool touched, pool played" in VtES. It may be seen as bad form, but as long as he didn't finish his turn or discarded a card, I would let him be. He don't have gained any information before changing his choice.

If he had used a discard action, thing would be different.

Up to the judge.

Depending on the tournament level, and pre-tournament announcements, I might judge this differently.

Rule of thumb: make it clear before an event what "Move transfers" implies:
- counters are moved when they reach a card
- counters are moved when they are released on a card
- counters are moved when the Methuselah says so
etc.

How about the FUN level?

I suggest playing VTES and not Magic and realizing that there is absolutely nothing at stake -- no money, no prizes of any value -- and just having fun.

Some people find more fun in actually have no rollback for that kind of stuff. It's more common on chess players, but it's more important for people agreeing with the rule on thoses case than taking a lax approach.
