file Proxy Kissed Question

Can Proxy Kissed be played on a Giovanni that already has superior Potence and/or Superior Fortitude (just to get the capacity increase and blood)? Like, say, Benedict Giovanni?

Proxy Kissed
Type: Master
Requires: Giovanni
Master: out-of-turn.
Put this card on a Giovanni when you move him or her from your uncontrolled region to your ready region during your influence phase. This Giovanni gains one level of Potence [pot] and one level of Fortitude [for]. His or her capacity is increased by 1. Move 1 blood from the blood bank to this Giovanni.

It is not a Master:Discipline so it shouldn't check to see if you have superior disciplines or not. It only checks for 'Giovanni from Uncontrolled in the Influence Phase', so it shouldn't be a problem to put Proxy Kissed on a Gio that already has [POT] or [FOR] or both. You may be able to put another one on them if the minion yo-yos through your uncontrolled, say via a Banishment.

Yes. Except where prohibited by card text (and those prohibitions are on a lot of cards!), there's nothing stopping you from getting additional levels of disciplines, beyond the normal two. You might want to do this to get additional fringe benefits such as from Proxy Kissed, to spend pool to get out of range of Parity Shift (such as with Aimee Laroux), or just to cycle the card (e.g. Visionquest).

Here's one example:
[LSJ 20051011]

>>Q: Can Blooding by the Code be played on a !Salubri which already has
>>superior Valeren?
>>
> yes,

Correct.

Put this card on a Salubri antitribu you control. This Salubri antitribu gains one level of Valeren [val] and gets +1 strength. Capacity increases by 1: the Salubri antitribu is one generation older. A vampire can have only one Blooding by the Code.

Note that while having the extra levels is pretty much entirely useless when it comes to using the discipline, if one of the sources goes away, you still have the levels provided by your other sources.

e.g. a Vampire with no Fortitude at all gets a Fortitude skill card. He then equips a Seal of Veddartha, and gets four counters on it. Now has three levels of Fortitude. Ethan Locke is in the game and uses his built-in steal action to steal the Fortitude master card. Your vampire with Seal of Veddartha still has two levels of Fortitude (from the third and fourth counters on it), so no harm done. If this ever happens, take a photo.
