Pre-Range Disarm

Is there a rule/ruling for this? I was about to ask the same question regarding playing Fear of the Void Below prior to Outside the Hourglass -- whether or not the damage even connects if the round is defaulting to long range.

Damage that is done prior to the determination of range happens irrespective of the default range. It simply doesn't care what the range is (it's pre-range damage).

That being said, I did find a post where LSJ says :

Yes. (And Disarm would not be playable, since the range is long)

So, playing a pre-range combat ends doesn't have priority over other effects like a normal strike:combat ends?

I believe that if you play superior Alpha Glint, combat ends immediately and no more combat cards can be played except 'end of round' ones.

A rather tiny thing bugs me in all this... The acting vamp has the impulse to play 'before range' cards... I thought that impusle is not passed until the acting vamp says so... Am i in the wrongs here?

Example: Both vamps has ANI. Can the acting vamp play all his "before range" cards in order to avoid the blocking minion's Terror Frenzy?
