Since my playgroup is a bit confused about this, does Strike: dodge nullify other effects of strikes like Oubliette?

Yes. Dodge protects the dodger from all effects of the opponent's strike.

Funny situation, playing dodge against an inferior Meld with the Land will prevent you from unlocking.
