the wall combat decks are pretty reliable. the only problem is the limited crypt selection requires a mixing with regular Gangrel.

a City Gangrel bleed deck can really surprise people by flying under the radar early on. Flurry of Action is the best card ever made. discourages blocking, so you get in some weak bleeds and untap. the exta actions are used to tool up, especially with Laptop Computers and Bleed Retainers, and also actions to rush or vote or whatever toolbox you desire. if your hand is jammed and you have no good 2nd action to take, play Flurry at basic instead to cycle cards. Luke Fellows and Xendil Charmer make a great foundation for this type of deck.
this is mostly a bunch of cheap common cards, and it builds up power steadily without ignoring your prey. the main problem is that their intercept sucks without animalism, but since they rarely need to spend blood you can throw in a ton of blood dolls and minion taps for poolgain.

I really like Luke Fellows. Another vampire to consider for the foundation of the deck is Mitru the Hunter. For the purposes of the original post, he can also play acrobatics! ha! Sounds funny, but if you are making a deck for a beginner and want to use cards you have extra copies of-It seems like a good fit. This can then be used for combat of dodge,additional, claws of the dead! Your new player might enjoy this. Then he/she can adjust stealth and combat to liking.

Edit: Gangrel Rumble in the City looks fun too! Baseball Bat! Why bring a gun to a basebal bat fight!?!?!

Edit 2: Mitru can also use Resist the Earth's Grasp for free instead of swallowed by the night.
