The problem with switching decks for 10-11 player tournaments is that you have no TWD to brag about when you win. With less players than 10, where "deck cred" isn't an issue, sure, there's no downside. Those people who like testing a deck repeatedly get to test and those people who are easily bored get to try different things.

If it werent set up lile this, all sorts of crazy stuff could end up in twda. 2R+f= malk 94, KS, something aweful that can not die or time out a table, and you land Jozz multirush or bribes diversity in the twda.....

Which would be funny, but not "right".

i have run and played several similar formats. these were tested and i'm adding as well some remarks:

4 deck tournament - player bring 4 deck and play 3 games with 1 remaining deck for possible finals.
this was very welcomed for 8-10 player tournaments. players don't play same game with same deck and same players at all.

15 card sideboard - was played only once so results may not show everything. we played this on 7 player tournament.
unfortunately some clans tend to be in advantage in this format due to clan discipline set up. whole game was won by kiasyd toolbox who was swapping deck format quite easily.

random pattern - players bring their deck with decklists (really needed). game is played as follows:
round 1 - every player plays his own deck
round 2 - player put deck into pool with numbers. dice roll determines for every player his deck starting with player on lower=st place rolling dice and picking up first
round 3 - same as round 2 but rolling order is reversed according current player order
finals - every player in order from 1st can pick up deck, but not their own they want to play. owner of winning deck should receive some price as well.
decklists are provided to players after random choosing of decks. problem is that by rolling by 'player' order you are giving up standings to all players after every round.

madness network - this was invite only event for 12 players. one organizer created 12 decks and they were chosen randomly by dice roll following same rules as random pattern above, whole in round 1 we used players global rating as his 'player position'.
this was quite fun and we run it 4 times especially because decks were discussed ahead of time and everybody has 'feeling' of participation in tournament few weeks ahead of tournament.
