file rock cat vs torn signpost

03 Mar 2013 07:20 #45620 by Szewski
Gargoyle creature with 4 life. 3 strength, 0 bleed.
Rock Cat may enter combat with a ready minion as a (D) action. Opposing vampires with capacity 3 or less cannot strike in the first round. Rock Cat gets an optional press each combat. Rock Cat may play cards requiring basic Potence Potence as a 3-capacity vampire.

Since the rockC in combat is threaten like a 3-cap vampire, does he gets the bonus from torn signpost?

(Vampires have +strenght but allies hav x strenght correct?)

As i understood it no, you would actually make its strength weaker to 2 strength as u would be forced to play inf pot.

If you want a bonus to strength it would be fists of death, but of course it would cost 1 blood/life. Maybe inc strength then play a potence strike card.

Well, before playing inc strength, first play some undead strength.

But really, what the rock cat need most tend to be Immortal Grapple or ranged damage (throw sewer lid). Hitting for 6 (with the press) is often enough.

(it's a shame that Rock cat cannot play Raking Talon)

Vampires and allies have a default strength.

Minions have a default strength of 1.

Rock Cat's default strength is overriden by its cardtext : "3 strength".
If Rock Cat plays a Torn Signpost, Rock Cat has 2 strength (instead of 3).

And a Great Beast would also have a reduced strength, so whether the minion is a vampire or not is irrelevant.

Name: Call the Great Beast
Cardtype: Action
Clan: Baali
Cost: 1 blood
+1 stealth action.
Put this card on the acting Baali and put X ritual counters on it, where X is the capacity of this Baali. This Baali may put a ritual counter on this card as a +1 stealth action. When this card has more than 10 ritual counters, burn this Baali and choose three Disciplines. This card becomes a unique clanless independent infernal vampire with 9 capacity, 4 strength and 3 bleed. The Great Beast has the chosen three Disciplines at superior. Move 9 blood to him from the blood bank. The Great Beast can enter combat with any ready minion controlled by another Methuselah as a (D) action and can prevent 1 damage each combat.
