No, moving blood via Blood Doll is optional during the Master phase. You can "forget" to use it ("forget" not being a keyword in vtes, I'd rather say: "you can decide not to use it").

No, gaining pool for having the Edge during the untap phase is optional (== "you can decide not to gain the pool").
