There are some vampires that are not necessarily better when they are merged.

In this case, maybe its just a matter of choice. if you are voting you probably want to keep the votes, if you are bleeding with sabbat vampires maybe you want the +1 bleed for him too. I just know that there are some vampires that I've asked the same question and never found a good reason to merge them.

Key point from the rules 1.5:
"If the advancement card conflicts with the base card (a different sect, for example), the advancement card has precedence."

There's no benefit. Marcus' merged version is total shit.

merging Vitel would be very useful in case you're up against that one weirdo player who actually uses No Confidence and/or Patsy to wipe out your titles
