Marcus comment on the deck and the final:
This is a stealth bleed deck with a notably large defense package. Many offensive cards double as defensive cards as well (Form of the Bat, Murmur of the False Will, Fform of Mist, etc)
The main gameplan most games is to play superior Govern the Unaligned to get 4 vampires out and then start bleeding for 3 repeatedly, rather than trying to push through large bleeds for 6. But the deck is flexible enough that you can adapt on the fly: in the finals I had a cel guns wall behind me so I did not take a single undirected action for fear of being pushed into torpor. Instead of building a Govern chain I brought out Marialena first and bled for 6 with Govern + Conditioning before my prey got out their first vampire (Lazverinus) and then kept forward momentum until I got my vp. Then multiple hunting grounds + 3 Vessels + transferring back pool using Dreams kept me alive until time was called – I had no chance killing my second prey who had 5+ Nephandus + Unmasking and poolgained with Liquidation + Ashurs.
Most games I feel like I'm clogging on wakes and other non-bleed cards, but some games the high ratio is absolutely key. Deep Song + Donnybrook to torpor or + Earth Meld to tap blockers was never relevant during the day, but can be insanely useful.
Earth Control + Form of Mist gets you through most defenses, and Form of the Bat can help you if they manage to get a second minion with 3 intercept. You don't need to diversify the stealth package to be able to stack even more stealth, it will only drain your vampires of blood even quicker.
Master package purpose is to reliably provide blood gain (or pool gain when vampires have enough blood, which is usually 3-4 blood each) and card flow. Giants Blood, The Coven and Villein might provide bigger boosts the turn you play them, but for this deck continuous buildup into continuous preassure is more important than big turns.
Thanks to organisers, sponsors and of course all the lovely participants!
