Bloodlines: AHRIMANES

  • Print
Disciplines: icondisanimalism icondispresence icondisspiritus
Sect: Sabbat
Nickname: Cats
  Background
The Ahrimanes originated with the Sabbat Gangrel. The founder of this bloodline was a Gangrel antitribu named Muricia. When Muricia utilized the thaumaturgic powers of the native North American shamans, she effectively separated herself from her clan and her blood forever altered.
Muricia tried to create others like herself, but soon discovered she could not, for her vitae was infertile. She learned she could choose existing Gangrels and, using the same ritual the shamans used on her, make them like her.

icondisspiritus The Ahrimanes have a new discipline: Spiritus. This discipline comes from the spiritual forces existing in nature. This discipline is highly versatile, giving Ahrimanes a strong edge over other Kindred in the wilderness.

-- Storytellers Handbook to the Sabbat
  V:TES Notes
The Ahrimanes cards mix well with the Gangrel and (to a lesser extent) the Toreador and Brujah (as well as those clans' antitribu counterparts). Although their numbers are small, you could also play the Ahrimanes by themselves. They're stronger when mixed with other clans, usually.

New Term:
Sterile

Sterile vampires cannot take actions to create other vampires (e.g., cannot perform The Embrace action, The Third Tradition action, etc.). These vampires cannot perform the Revelations of the Sire or the Abomination actions, either.

cardblferalspirit
Feral Spirit
Master.
Put this card on any Gangrel or Gangrel antitribu you control. This vampire is now an Ahrimane (and Sabbat). This vampire has Spiritus; if the vampire already had Spiritus, he or she now has superior Spiritus. This vampire is now Sterile.
This is another card designed for mixing Bloodlines clans with other clans.
With Feral Spirit you can turn one of your "basic" vampires into an Ahrimane. That vampire will then be able to play cards that require Ahrimanes as well as cards that require Spiritus. (If you change his clan back to Gangrel with Clan Impersonation, you could then play another Feral Spirit to give him superior Spiritus. A complicated way of simulating a Master: Discipline card, but it's there if you want to try.)
Since there's no clan requirement on this card, you don't have to control your Ahrimane vampire first. You could even play this card with no Ahrimanes in your crypt at all (and "build your own" Ahrimanes from the plentiful Gangrel and Gangrel antitibu vampires).

Bloodlines: HARBINGERS OF SKULLS

  • Print
Disciplines: icondisauspex icondisfortitude icondisnecromancy
Sect: Sabbat
Nickname: Lazarenes
  Background
The Harbingers of Skulls bloodline claims a history of treachery, for which it seeks to exact a hellish vengeance. Members of the bloodline are quite powerful without exception, and they claim to have returned from their banishment to the realms of the dead.
The Harbingers of Skulls have been members of the Sabbat for only a few years, yet in that time they have amassed unheard-of power in the sect (given their small number).
It is believed that the bloodline has not Embraced since its introduction to the Sabbat. If this is true, the Harbingers must be ancient, accomplished and critical, as they seem not to deem children of the modern nights worthy of their brand of Caine's curse.
-- Guide to the Sabbat
  V:TES Notes

The Harbingers of Skulls cards mix well with the Ventrue anititribu and the Nagaraja. They are even strong enough, if maybe a bit too costly in terms of capacity, to be played in a single-clan deck (although their small number would mean having multiples of each in the crypt).

Egothha
Harbinger of Skulls. 7 capacity
obf AUS FOR NEC
Sabbat: During your untap phase, if Egothha is ready, your prey burns the top card of his or her library. If that card is a master card, Egothha gains 1 blood.
As Egothha's special ability indicates, the Harbingers of Skulls have a tendency toward resource denial (like library destruction).

Bloodlines: DAUGHTERS OF CACOPHONY

  • Print
Disciplines: icondisfortitude icondismelpominee icondispresence
Sect: Independent
Nickname: Sirens
  Background
The Daughters are distinctly modern phenomena; no Kindred claims to have heard of them before the 1700s. The Daughters are such masters of song that most Kindred believe they are an offshoot of the Toreador.
The Daughters are singers without peer, but their melodious harmonies are not their main claim to fame. It is the damage their songs can do to the mind that causes their Kindred concern.

icondismelpominee The Melpominee Discipline appeared simultaneously with the Daughters of Cacophony and is intrinsically linked to that bloodline. It allows its possessors to use speech and song for a variety of supernatural effects.

-- Vampire Players Guide, 2nd ed.
  V:TES Notes
The Daughters of Cacophony cards mix well with the Toreador and Ventrue (as well as both clans' antitribu counterparts), especially where voting is concerned. They could be played on their own, but their low capacity (high generation) and small numbers, coupled with generally poor defensive capabilities will work against them in a single-clan deck.

New Mechanic:
Split Discipline Cards

Some library cards have two Discipline icons on the left side. Some of the effects listed on these cards require one of the Disciplines listed, while other effects require the other listed Discipline. Each effect shows the icon of the Discipline required.

When played, the card counts as requiring the discipline being used (for effects that enhance or restrict cards that require certain disciplines). In the hand (or library or ash heap), the card can be considered to require either discipline (for effects that retrieve cards that require certain disciplines).

cardblmissingvoice
The Missing Voice
Action Modifier. Melpominee/Celerity
Celerity: Requires a vampire with a capacity greater than 4. Vampires with a capacity less than 5 get -1 intercept when attempting to block this action.
Melpominee: Allies and younger vampires get -1 intercept when attempting to block this action.
Superior Melpominee: +1 stealth
Most Bloodlines cards that require one of the new Disciplines unique to a particular bloodline also include a secondary Discipline usage (although some do not). The effect of the secondary Discipline is generally less than the effect of the primary Discipline.
But the ability to use the card with a secondary Discipline makes playing decks that mix a Bloodlines clan with one (or more) of the "mainstream" clans easier - the card won't get "stuck" in your hand as often if the mainstream vampires can use it for some positive effect (when your Bloodlines clan vampires are either still uncontrolled or have already taken their actions).
The Missing Voice is mainly a stealth card (or rather, an intercept-reducer card to help make more of your stealth). The secondary Discipline (Celerity) effect is slightly less useful than the primary Discipline (Melplominee) normal effect, which is in turn slightly less useful than the superior effect.
