Hello!
Been musing lately about using master based oust mechanisms. Here's a remake of old betrayer combo back from 94.
1. How do you intend to oust?
Betrayer damage, political actions and occosionally fame
2. How do you intend to keep from being ousted?
Block with 2nd. tradition, bloat with parity shift
3. What do you want your ready region to look like (ie, how many guys are you planning on getting out)?
Anson and Uriah later if thing go good Rake.
4. What do you want your average turn to look like?
See deck description.
5. What's your metagame like? How do your opponents play?
All over the place, but there is always someone playing Finnish Politics
6. What problems have you observed with the deck in play?
Don't have enough betrayers, nor Uriahs to actually build this deck. I expect manipulating you pool total to be able to pass Uriah forward to be challenge at times. If someone should build this, give it a spin and then report back here would be appriciated.
Deck Name: Winter of betrayers
Author: Mikko Moisander
Description:
Get out Anson and uriah and buy enough new vampires to your uncontrolled to have spare copy of Uriah. Drop your pool total so that your prey gets control of Uriah. Play 2x betrayer and follow with parity shift.
That Uriah may move futher around the table matters not. Betrayer only requires that targer metuselah controls a vampire you have in your uncontrollod when you play it. Afterwards it stays in play and continues to hurt the target unless they pay that extra pool to guess the indentity of the betrayer.

Well...
I am not sure to understand how it works :
If I am correct, the target meth just have to say "uriah winter" and a combo of many cards from your part will have cost him 2 pools ?
Is it so good ?

Well hopefully I'll be able to play two betrayers at same time. So it will be 4 pool damage. 2 from betrayers and and 2 from 'guessing' indentity of each betrayer card.

So you will have a set up not so easy (having uriah in play, anoher uriah in uncontrolled, less pool than your prey) and for 1 master you will have your prey lose at most 2 pools ?
It seems kind of weak...
Additionaly, I am not sure that if your grand prey have more pool than your prey, your prey will not have the opporunity to give control of Uriah before paying for betrayer and therefore NEVER pay anything for your card.

By this ruling it seems Timo is right, damn! The idea is suddenly much weaker, though it could still result in interesting game where everybody is trying to keep their pool totals low in order to avoid controlling Uriah.
[RTR 19941109]
If the vampire chosen for Betrayer is burned, so is Betrayer. If the vampire chosen for Betrayer becomes contested, Betrayer is nullified until the contention is resolved, at which time the Betrayer is reactivated. If a player takes control of the vampire that is the target of the betrayer, that player takes the pool loss.

Would you be able to manipulate your pool with vessel before resolving Uriah in your untap? Don't forget to use life boon and neonate beach. U might include anarch convert because it is just good and may be useful for betrayer.
I find betrayer to be interesting but hard to use.
