Can i please come back to the discord. i am sorry that my desire to talk about playing without the grouping rule caused so much controversy.


i don't get it personally, but its not my drama, i'd just like to play some casual tables from time to time without the grouping rule, and would like to talk about such things without getting dogpiled for having an unpopular opinion.

respectfully i appeal my discord ban. there was no mute, no warning, no appeal process. just banned because "i rubbed people up the wrong way", apparently its a boys club where you just get banned because people don't like what you have to say. the rights holders would be outraged.

ill ask again in a year if this doesn't go well, ain't nobody got time for drama but i aint gonna just pretend like this game doesn't exist or that me getting banned wasn't some sort of nonsensical irrationality.

i just want to play vtes on lackey in voice chat a couple of times a week, and now all those lobbies are password protected to keep out rabble like me. very inclusive and welcoming community.

You were not banned because you "Rubbed people the wrong way."

You were banned for a body of work that included the following:

A generally hostile and intolerant attitude when discussing your ideas and someone didn't agree with you, Name calling, Repeated disruption of other people's topics, Repeatedly arguing with moderators when given warnings about unacceptable behavior, Repeatedly refusing to comply with moderator requests, Repeatedly tagging Black Chantry members in attempts to appeal said warnings, Numerous complaints from other users about your behavior, and several bigoted, transphobic statements that you made.

After a brief discussion with the rest of the admin team and Black Chantry members, and judging by the content of your above post, we will not be lifting your ban from the discord server at this time.

Additionally, any whiff of hostility displayed here on the VEKN.net forums may result in you getting banned here as well, so tread with the utmost care and respect.

this accusation of transphobia is exactly what the image attached to my appeal is getting at, like it came completely out of left field. i get called an asshole; i respond to the effect that asshole is all im hearing, and i get called a transphobic bigot; wtf where did that even come from, because i call everyone bruz? like actually wtf.

and then i wait several months to appeal, and thats treated like some sort of aggressive act by poci here.

i wasnt aiming to convince anyone of anything, but i was viciously dogpiled honestly this outmoded response was completely unprecedented


this response is deeply problematic and is indicitive of systemic issues within vtes leadership.

to miscontstrue my appeal as anything other than an honest good faith attempt to public get to the bottom of what is incomprehensible is nothing short of defamation and slander.

i literally posted that image of that quote, and then you go and do exactly that stuff. its wild.

i just wanna play a card game with people who wanna play the same card game. instead i get all this political and ideological nonsense that in no way helps any of us enjoy vtes together. i was never rude to anyone who wasnt being abusive to me. i said lots and lots of positive things about the other people in that groupless thread. then i went and played other games, came back hours later to find myself permabanned with no recourse. this was after i was told by admins to open a new groupless thread to continue the conversation. i was lead to slaughter. this goes way beyond hazing. this is abusive behavior by very unprofessional people.

i formally appeal. for this process to be impartial my appeal must be processed by people who has absolutely no part in the original decision making process.

you could have muted me for a day/week/month/year.. but you chose to be assholes to me because im autistic and no matter how many times i try to articulate myself you're going to be mean to me. its really rude, really unfair, and even if i have legally protected views about sex and gender it gives you absolutely no right to call me transphobic; it has absolutely nothing to do with vtes or the topics being discussed. i have never once done anything to disenfranchise any member of our community, but you sure will be responsible for exactly that if you let this ban stand. im just some autistic guy on the other side of the world who doesn't get to play vtes very often. by letting this ban stand you effectively remove a massive slice of the available tables from me. i haven't played vtes since i got banned, it's just not the same knowing the toxicity lurking out there. so i appeal and you're gonna publicly double down on the accusation of transphobia because in direct response to being called a self righteous asshole i said my ears don't lie. so fucking dramatic. like who cares? i sure don't we're all folk with our own paths in life, i have no illwill towards anyone, i stand by the UDHR, especially articles 18 and 19, and other than this mention of it the only topics i intend on discussing on vekn and the vtes discord are.... no surprises... VTES!!! friendly banter across the table is always great, and im always friendly to everyone in voice, i always use people's screen names. i grew up on the internet, your identity is whatever you say it is; authentic internet culture. i get it. but how does me getting dogpilled turn into effective a lifetime ban

it makes absolutely no sense. but yeah. see you in a year, aint nobody go time for this dumb drama, its not my drama, i didnt' choose it, im not causing it. im just saying it exists, its dumb, lets move on. because this ban looks really bad, because of how little sense it makes.


like i came up with so many great ideas in that grouping thread, people had lots of objections and i feel like i fielded their concerns well for the most part. there's honestly so many ways to play without or with a different grouping rule. and i'd presume to demand the official format ever abandon it; i'd still greatly appreciate if someone could post a link to the googlegroups archive of the playtester loosing their shit over the introduction of the grouping rule, scathing as it was with respect to it being a shameless cashgrab. entrenched and here to stay it is. im just a noob with niche decks that barely work trying to brainstorm stuff that requires ignoring the grouping rule to get a viable crypt, not some pro fundamentally breaking the game with OP nonsense.

Not sure what you wrote or said, so can't defend you, but I learned from being banned on a FB VTES group that some political views or opinions (totally valid / legal and expressed in a polite way) are better kept to yourself in this very "tolerant" and "open minded" community. Just watch some cards being banned or renamed and draw your conclusions.

That being said, you were definitely not banned for discussing lifting the grouping rule.

respectfully there is a difference between some random facebook group and a discord server purporting to be the official server.

i was never given a stated reason for my ban, i just came back from wreckfest to being banned from the official vtes discord server.

and then when i did reach out to an admin who will remain nameless, for they insisted on staying out of it to remain free from conflict with fellow admins [which i did say lacked integrity] i was repeatedly assured that whilst this accusation of transphobia was discussed by the admins/moderators, it was not why i got banned. so this gaslighting is pretty abusive.

i just want to play card game, not worry about irl stuff, just play card game.
i have absolutely no desire to get caught up in arguments about politics and philosophy. i just want to play the card game.

i just dont get how folks can throw around baseless accusations and there's absolutely no recourse, its some insane toxicity.
