file Summon History + Reanimated Corpse

Vampire A plays Summon History at inferior with cost = 3.
If he puts into play a Reanimated Corpse, can the Reanimated Corpse be considered to have a cost of 3 (therefore coming into play with 3 Pathos counters), or is its costs considered to be 0?

Name: Summon History
Cardtype: Action
Cost: X blood
Discipline: Temporis
[tem] Search your library and/or ash heap for an ally, retainer or equipment whose cost is X or less. Put that card in play (on this vampire and with starting life from the bank as needed).
[TEM] Search your crypt and/or ash heap for a non-scarce vampire with capacity X or less. Put that vampire in play, with no blood.

Name: Reanimated Corpse
Cardtype: Ally
Cost: X blood
Discipline: Thanatosis
Zombie with 2 life. 2 strength, 2 bleed.
[thn] Put X pathos counters on this corpse when it enters play. During your untap phase, burn 1 pathos counter. Remove the corpse from the game if it has no pathos counters. The corpse can play combat cards that require basic Fortitude [for] as a vampire.
[THN] As above, but put 2 additional pathos counters on the corpse.

I would say that the cost of a card is set when the card is played. However, with Summon History, the cards aren't played "regularly". (see DI vs Concaeled Weapon, Ian Forestal + Pack Alpha + serpentis retainer, ... )

So either each card has a default cost (which, usually, is the printed cost, but in this case, would be 0) - or we let the choice be made when card is "played in the unusual way".

the Zhenga + Swarm ruling would push towards the X=0 direction.

I'm trying to find cards that interact with other cards referring to their cost (something like "Search your library for a card with a cost of 2 or less", ...)

Regarding the RC's cost, we have one existing ruling:
* Khobar Towers, that gives X pool (where X is what you paid)

I need some extra time to check this one.

When put in play in a non-standard way (via Summon History or Alastor, for instance), X in cost is 0.

Could it possible, in the case of things like Summon History & Reanimated Corpse (or any other X-cost target) that the Methuselah may choose to have the Reanimcated corpse be X or less?

For example:

Summon History is declared for 6 blood cost. Search through the library for a Reanimated Corpse and declare its cost to be 6 (since that is equal to or less than the cost paid to Summon History) and put it into play as if its cost had been six (with the Pathos counters).

If your question is the same as the initial question, won't my answer be the same?

When [a card is] put in play in a non-standard way (via Summon History or Alastor, for instance), X in [its] cost is 0.

I'm not trying to disagree with the general principal that for cards such as Kindred Segregation or Consume the Dead, which check the cost of the card as it is in play, should still see cards such as Reanimated Corpse as X = 0 (the minimum required cost to put the card into play).

What I am suggesting is that in the same way you can declare a Villein for more than 2, you should be able to declare a Summon History for more than X = 0, lets choose 5 for the sake of a number, and put into a play a Reanimated Corpse as if the Reanimated Corpse cost 5.

The difference between the other "put in play" cards I could easily remember and find all have text dealing with the cost of the card "put in play", such as Alastor, Bauble and Pier 13.

Alastor
Type: Political Action
Requires: justicar,inner circle
Requires a justicar or Inner Circle member.
Choose a ready Camarilla vampire. If this referendum is successful, search your library for an equipment card and place this card and the equipment on the chosen vampire. Pay half the cost (round down) of the equipment. This vampire may enter combat with any vampire controlled by another Methuselah as a +1 stealth (D) action. This vampire cannot commit diablerie. A vampire may have only one Alastor.

Pier 13, Port of Baltimore
Type: Equipment
Cost: 2 blood
This equipment card represents a unique location and does not count as equipment while in play.
During your influence phase, this minion may equip with a non-location, non-unique equipment card from your hand (requirements and cost apply as normal). This is not an action and cannot be blocked.

Bauble
Type: Action
Requires: Vicissitude
Cost: 2 blood
+1 stealth action.
:vic: Put this card on the acting vampire. Search your library and put a non-unique, non-location equipment card on another minion you control. Do not pay the cost to equip. The vampire with this card cannot attempt actions, block or vote. You may burn this card and the chosen equipment card during your untap phase or when the minion with the chosen equipment leaves the controlled region.
:VIC: As above, but you may burn this card and the chosen equipment at any time.

Summon History
Type: Action
Requires: Temporis
Cost: X blood
:tem: Search your library and/or ash heap for an ally, retainer or equipment whose cost is X or less. Put that card in play (on this vampire and with starting life from the bank as needed).
:TEM: Search your crypt and/or ash heap for a non-scarce vampire with capacity X or less. Put that vampire in play, with no blood.

Kindred Segregation
Type: Political Action
Successful referendum means that all allies are burned. Any Methuselah can keep an ally or allies he or she controls by repaying their pool cost to recruit.

Consume the Dead
Type: Action/Reaction
Requires: Nagaraja
[ACTION] +1 stealth action. (D) Enter combat with a wraith ally or burn a wraith retainer.
[REACTION] Only usable when a minion or retainer is being burned by any means except diablerie. Usable during combat. Usable by a tapped Nagaraja. Remove that minion or retainer from the game instead. This Nagaraja gains 1 blood if the minion was a vampire or gains X+1 blood, where X is the blood or pool cost of that ally or retainer. Burn option.
