Noob question about S:CE was created by Tro1ka
Hi!
I'm extremely new to the game (Just got the eternal struggle box) and i think i have something missing about S:CE.
I was playing with the Malkavian deck against the Nosferatu one and i found myself blocking my opponent actions and then always avoiding combat with S:CE and end up frustrating my opponent, wich deck was combat-oriented and could not hit my vampires, as i always was using S:CE.
Is this correct? I'm missiing something?
Thanks!

Hello there,
well, S:CE can indeed be very frustrating for combat decks.
But something in your description seems confusing to me:
There is no S:CE in the Malkavian deck...
So I want to make sure we are discussing the same thing here:
You are referring to the Malkavian preconstructed starter in the VTES 5th Edition boxed set?
Best regards,
Hardy

Yes, i'm talking about the basic Malkavian deck from the 5th edition box.
Maybe i'm confuse about some of the terms in the game, specially combat and action blocking.
You need a specific card to do S:CE in a combat?
I tough it was a basic strike option to choose when in combat (Like Hand Strike, Dodge or Steal Blood)
Thanks.

Vampire have as you say only Hand strike basic strike,no another.
So for S:CE you need combat strike card with text strike: Combat Ends.
Also some vampires have in his special text how thay can strike CE.
Same is for dodge or steal blood, you need strike card or vampire special text to use these strikes.

The only "basic strike" is the "hand strike".
To do a "Strike : COmbat Ends", you have to play a card or use an effect that give you this option"
cf rulebook :

Choose Strike: Each minion chooses their
strike. The strike can be from a combat card,
from a weapon the minion possesses, by default from a hand strike, or can be from any
other card providing this minion a strike.

Thanks to all, now i understand it right.
The wording in the spanish rulebook made me confuse about de combat strikes available to the vampire.
Now everything makes more sense.
