Howdy,
So Franciscus has been Revealed to be a !Salubri and Blooded by the Code, gaining Valeren (and +1 strength and cap 3).
Question 1: His sect changed with his clan, yes? He's now Sabbat?
He gets into combat and plays Armor of Caine's Fury and Trap before range. His opponent has no strike other than the default hand strike and no presses to end, but does have enough blood to survive long enough to hit Franciscus three times.
Question 2: Was it a mistake for Franciscus to play the Trap? Is he going to burn, despite all the damage done to him being prevented?
I think the answers are 1) Yes, he's Sabbat, and 2) Yes, he's going to burn.
Thanks,
Alex

Yes he is sabbat, and no I don't think he burns, since if he prevented all the damage he didn't actually take any damage.

(this needs to be made clearer, eiter by definition of the word "taken" or by a cardtext update)
So - I don't know if it was a mistake to play the Trap.
Franciscus won't burn in this combat if all the damage inflicted to him is prevented.

Yes. When you change clan, you change your current sect to the default sect of the new clan.Howdy,

"Prevented" damage isn't "taken". [LSJ 20021028]He gets into combat and plays Armor of Caine's Fury and Trap before range. His opponent has no strike other than the default hand strike and no presses to end, but does have enough blood to survive long enough to hit Franciscus three times.

Well, Franciscus wouldn't burn whether he prevented the damage or not, if he can survive the combat (must've been a trick question).
His opponent has no strike other than the default hand strike and no presses to end, but does have enough blood to survive long enough to hit Franciscus three times.

With cards like Derange and Clan Impersonation one's current sect also changes? For example a prince gets Deranged by a !Malkavian she loses her sect therefore her title?

Yes, if you change clan, you change sect along with it. If you don't belong to the correct sect, your title (if any) goes inert as long as you are that sect.
