This is the official announcement of the
*** Belgian National Championship 2024 ***
Date: Sunday, July 21st , 2024
Registration: 10:30
First round starting time: 11:00
Expected finishing time: 22:00
Type of Event: National Championship (see the tournament rules)
Being a National Championship, the use of proxy cards is not allowed. See the instructions for the use of cards from printable V:EKN expansion sets.
Number of rounds: 3 + final
Time limit per round: 2 hours

Drinks are available on site. Other catering options will be explored based on the number of pre-registered participants.
Entry fee: 10€

Pre-registration is very useful to ensure appropriate prize support and a timely start of the tournament. If you intend to participate, please sign up as soon as possible by replying to this thread (with your name and VEKN number) or joining the Facebook event .
*** How to reach ***
By public transport: Spelfanaat is situated at 20 minutes walking from train station "Mechelen Nekkerspoel"
If you arrive from Paris/London/Berlin... you will end up at Brussels South Station (Gare du Midi), where most trains going towards Antwerp will stop at Nekkerspoel. Coming from the Netherlands, most trains from Antwerp to Brussels will stop at Nekkerspoel.
By car: there is ample free parking in the area on Sundays.
We hope to see many of you in Mechelen on the Belgian national day July 21st!

We do not have any special arrangements organised unfortunatly. I believe the closest business hotel would be the Holiday Inn Express Mechelen City Centre
So far there have not been any sign-ups from Dutch people coming from Eindhoven yet, but I am hopefull to see some of our northern neighbours show up for the tournaments <3

2 questions:
Is there any accommodation organized for guests from afar?
Is there somebody coming from/over Eindhoven on Saturday?
(That would save me/us a day in travel and sleepover)
