There's a very long, yet interesting read on the collapse of the MMO here:

Fascinating story. I'm amazed that a company managed so badly even created EVE in the first place.

Wow.
As someone who knows all about the importance of managing projects correctly, CCP didnt manage anytbing correctly. If you expect a return on something, then finish it or kill it, using it as auxillary for other shit is poor management. If two teams do the same thing for seperate projects, and team A is <25% done with what they do, and team B rolls in on NOT THIER SHIT and gets ~75% of the whole done, whats that say about team A? Whats that say about the obvious potential for productivity from team B, and whats thats say about thier work ethic? Oh, and team B keeps getting deprived of resources and still performs this way? Buy a cloning machine, replace team A with team Bv1.5.......
You gage results. See where a giant sinkhole is filling the earths mantle with your money, and stop putting money there.
I can probably find a team of 12 homeless people to carry out the basics of guiding a less effiecient team towars being more efficient or getting fired. Its not hard. This adds incite.
And i didnt give a toss about the MMO anymore. I have like 6 gig of data a month, im not thier target audience.
They killex a profitable cardgame for this. They could have paid another 10 year deal with hasbro and ran with it.
Heres the beautiful thing:
They couldve taken the whole of ccp vtes for the mmo, and vtes could be making them money, as its being ran complete with rulings, sets designed and tested, and tournaments ran BY VOLUNTEERS. unpaid ones.
So, good job, CCP. Ill buy the IP for $10. Any takers?

For want of a dress, the company was lost.
