I was a bit disappointed that the whole piece doesn´t even give a vague indication on how much they actually progressed and when that thing is going to see the light of the day.

At this point in their history, WoW was in stores had two expansions already.
It's sad, really, how the drive for beautiful clothing in an MMO destroyed both a living, breathing CCG and an entire arm of a well-established, well-liked, innovative company.

I think this is too simple. At the point where they started with the MMO they had retired the very successful oWoD and not had a lot of success with the nWoD. V:TES was a working product but not hugely profitable either. So moving towards an electronic product line did make sense. Just not getting any actual product done was the fail here.

I think this is too simple. At the point where they started with the MMO they had retired the very successful oWoD and not had a lot of success with the nWoD. V:TES was a working product but not hugely profitable either. So moving towards an electronic product line did make sense. Just not getting any actual product done was the fail here.

Well I don't know any details but I can only imagine their decision to use the OWOD as a setting for the game helped in some form to get OWOD 'reprinted' as V20.
