Ropecon 2013 Saturday VTES Tournament Poll

We're pondering what kind of tournament to organize for Ropecon's Saturday this year. If you don't plan on attending, please don't vote.

Traditionally we've played draft.


Another option would be to use Orgy of Blood which is constructed format with some special rules.

These special rules are are:

1. Vampires get -1 bleed, a vampire can burn 1 blood to get +1 bleed once each turn. (=default bleed is reduced to 0)

2. You gain victory points:
* normally (ousting your Prey etc).
* 1 victory point when you burn opposing minion controlled by your Prey in combat or as a result of a D action.

You can gain up to 3 victory points per Prey from ousting and/or burning the minions.
Possible additional victory points (Gambit Accepted etc) are not resticted by this limit.

3. You may burn 3 pool to cancel a bloodhunt called on your vampire.

4. Game starts with Tension in the Ranks, without possibility to burn it. Tension in the Ranks cannot be contested.

Why not giving a victory point also by burning a vampire as a result of a blocked torpor rescue (diablerie)?

Not a format I've devised.

It has already been somewhat tested and no such changes you guys propose have apparently deemed necessary.

The guys that propose the format say "meh" to the suggested changes above.

Carlton is unique and using him to burn a diablerist will cost you pool.

No need to give points for diablerizing when stopping a self rescue from torpor. No glory in that.



Not really loonking to discuss the rules/proposed rule changes in this thread.
Especially with people who won't be attending.
Especially as I'm not partial to OotB format or the draft.

I wont be attending, so i didnt want to throw off your poll, but orgy of blood sounds solid and fun. Kinda storyline-esque.
But i do tremble at how many muaziz decks would show up......

The format rewards thimgs like trophy and uber combat that typically laxks ousting power, and whats more is there are 15 vps possible at a table. Very difficult, very strategic.
Looks fun.
