Loving Agony damage vs. S:CE

S:CE "ends combat before other strikes or other strike resolution effects are resolved". Loving Agony ends combat and then applies damage after combat (based on groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/browse_thread/thread/1820472a8d175684/bb1054734eaab170?lnk=gst&q=loving+agony+damage#bb1054734eaab170). If the opposing minion plays a S:CE in response to Loving Agony, does that minion take the damage that should occur after combat? I think that the answer is yes, since the damage is dealt after combat instead of during combat - the damage is not a "strike resolution effect", in other words, which the opposing minion's S:CE would avoid.

Compare to Catatonic Fear.

Catatonic Fear vs. Majesty, Majesty user takes damage
Catatonic Fear vs. Dodge, no one takes damage
Catatonic Fear vs. Form of Mist, Form of Mist user takes damage

Loving Agony substitutes for Catatonic Fear in all of the examples above with the same results.

Yes, the only way out of taking damage is to Dodge.

also, Loving Agony vs. Loving Agony: combat ends, both vampires take damage.
S:CE is faster than most strikes, but other S:CE will go off at the same speed.
